It definitely didn't look good. You can never tell with Max. He is "injury prone", but he comes back quick and strong, so I'm not going nuts… yet.

1-0 Canucks on a Ryan Kesler last minute goal. :D

Wooo 'nucks!

Yeah, I'll wait to hear on Patches before I panic. Even if his arm fell off he'd just get it sown back on and return within a week. :P

So I just changed the channel to a re-run of the USA-Finland womens' game this morning, and every time I see womens' hockey I'm impressed by how much faster it's gotten since the last time I've seen it. Good stuff.

I noticed that watching the Canada - Swiss game this morning. Since they don't have body-checking the speed, puck movement, and action can be fast paced.

Saw the women's team Canada game, good hockey, but the Canadian team was much better than the Swiss team.

Blanked them 5-0, no goals in the 2nd half of the game.

Team USA should give them competition. Don't know how strong/popular women's hockey is outside NA.

His left arm hit the post and his glove had fallen off, so it was bare arm on the post.

The only good news, I saw him moving his hand. Probably not broken, but definitely tender.

Team USA must be bitting their nails right now. On the bright side, he'll have 2 weeks to heal during the Olympic break.

The weird thing is that, as you mentioned, impact certainly seemed to be (bare) wrist/hand on post, but he was clearly moving his hand (picked up his glove & then put weight on it while down) and when he left the ice he seemed to be either favouring one leg (not putting weight on it) or (best case scenario) a little winded (as he couldn't straighten up).

My hope is that he bruised his hand (thus the initial pain) and was winded (thus the doubled-over leaving the ice) but at this point its tough to say. I could see him not coming back this game (just to be safe) even if its minor, so I'm not going to panic just yet, but we'll see.

I wouldn't say it was a cheap shot. What was the defender supposed to do? Let Pacioretty drive the net and score a goal?

It was at least an interference call, given how the league's been called this year. I find it hard to believe that if we had a career AHLer like that who did the exact same thing to Jeff Skinner or Erik Staal, they'd get away with no call.

Was a tad cheap, but happens all the time without being called. I wasn't expecting a penalty on the play.

The Komi hit on Bo was as dirty as they come. I still think a game misconduct would've been appropriate.

A washed up x-Hab/leaf taking out one of the games young (potential) stars.

How would it be interference? Pacioretty had the puck.

I think, if the reverse situation happened, we'd probably give Murray props for getting to the guy early enough that he didn't get thrown into Price. I guess the Carolina defender is probably thinking, "If I don't check Pacioretty now, I'm going to toss him straight into my goaltender, and/or probably get sent back to the AHL."

I agree with you. The Komisarek hit was dirty.
