Ya, I heard he was a ruins killer,,, but I didn't know how good he was. Now they have something else to fear from us.

vegasrick
Nice highlights.....but (1) I can't stand that Barfalo announcer; and (2) awful lot of goals against the Habs in there. So it seems hardly anyone expects him to stay here after the rental period? Guess we'll see.
Guest mrsmarkov
ha! hope he likes it here! Haha I don't think he's happy being here right now. Hopefully that changes. But I can't imagine him being happy. Here's a nice stat for us habs fans: In 53 games against the bruins in his career, Vanek has 30 goals and 31 assists. He's a bear hunter. I like the sound of that. I'm glad to have him, but it sucks that he's just a rental. I mean no one has actually said that officially, but come on. There's no way he's going to resign with us. I hope I'm wrong, but I highly doubt it. I pray that he falls in love with this city.
habs_93
Just something to wet our whistles. I forgot he had that late goal against us. I remembered it being Drew Stafford. Drew Stafford is the generic Sabre in my mind. Some guy in a Sabres jersey doing something? Drew Stafford until proven innocent. Man, I'm excited. I can't wait. It's been a long while since an acquisition of a player has made me this excited. It's going to be a great night! Lets go Habs!
Noob616
Haha I don't think he's happy being here right now. Hopefully that changes. But I can't imagine him being happy. I dunno, it's probably a pretty cool thing to get traded to Montreal like this. He's a UFA in the summer and there's far worse fates than playing here for 5 weeks and playoffs. He's a UFA in the summer and there's far worse fates than playing here for 5 weeks and playoffs. Ya I agree with you there. But I'm sure he expected to go to a real cup contender. I've watched and listened to all of his phone interviews and he honestly does not seem ecstatic, especially not of the thought of signing with us over the summer. I'm not going to make anymore judgments until he has become settled with the team and then go from there.
Noob616
I mean, we are talking about a guy who signed an offer sheet to go to Edmonton. Can't rule anything out.
Guest mrsmarkov
If he comes as advertised,,,,then I want him here for a lonnnng time. Who wouldn't? . Slam dunk acquisition if you ask me. Ya sure I heard the rumours of getting him like a month ago, but I never thought it would actually happen. Come on we have MB, he doesn't make bold moves, he only makes useless ones. I wasn't holding my breath, especially when I heard the trade tracker say we acquired Dubnyk. I thought that was a joke at first. I have watched every game he's ever played in, I may have missed about three and let me tell ya, he is a joke of a goalie.

Yeah, I really don't think my heart could take watching Dubnyk play even one game for the Habs. With him, every shot is an adventure

If he was between the pipes for us I'd be saying my hail mary's from the beginning to the end of the game. I know MB isn't the sharpest tool in the box, but even this acquisition is beneath him. ramcharger440
would have been nice if he could have skated with the team before the game
jennifer_rocket
Nothing really spectacular about his debut, but he's definitely going to need a couple of games to mesh. Hopefully his performance on Saturday (and that of his linemates) is better.
BeanCountingHab
No practice and and he'd been awake forever so he could fly in, I really wasn't expecting much of anything.

Agreed & I'm still not expecting much on Saturday either other than he's fresher. Next week is where I hope he starts to shine. It will take some time but hopefully sooner than later. That said, I really dont love him on the plekanec line. You're putting him in way harder defensive situations than he needs to be and you're wasting his offensive abilities vs. just putting him on a pure scoring line like DD's.
