I would like to think this is the easy game of this road trip, but we all know what damage that kind of thinking leads to. New sheriff in town for the Habs with the Vanek debut. Would be nice to see an immediate return on yesterday's deal, but we'll cut him some slack until he gets in a practice or two with the new linemates. I only expect 1 goal from him tonight. :P

Take these guys super serious tonight boys. We need this win to guarantee us at least a 50/50 road record on this trip.

Unlikely Gorges will play;

@Dave_Stubbs: #Habs Gorges had X-rays after last night's game vs #NHLDucks, @985Sports reports. Hand fracture was discovered

From Habs I/O:

Josh Gorges won’t be in the Canadiens’ lineup against the Coyotes. There were reports after Wednesday’s game that the defenceman has a broken hand and he returned home to Montreal Thursday to be re-evaluated by team doctors.

Not good news. Looks like the Weaver pick up was a good call in hindsight.

Yes..amen...I remember it was not very long ago that we had this little discussion that it would be gold if Vanek was traded to Montreal but we thought "fat chance".....and now voila! Let's hope that he carries on his good playing and scoring. We need a big guy like that upfront. Yeah for us!

One good thing happens to us..or for us (Vanek)..and now tho (Gorges)....sigh. But hey..go Habs!

Wow. Oscar-worthy right there. Just wondering.....on that play, the goalie was called for diving, right? Or did Patches get a five minute major for trying to avoid him?

Not sure if your serious or not Rick,,, but you can be soooooo funny sometimes :lol:

Great GDT, kinot, as per usual.

Cripes, I was still studying for school when we last lost to Phoenix?!? I'm getting old. Or the Coyotes are actually that bad.

I'd love to stay up to see how Vanek does but I'm still a day away from March Break. I might have to wait until Wednesday, when he's wearing a red jersey, to see it happen.

Tomorrow won't need much help being a good day but waking up to a W like I did this morning will go a long way to making it great. Go Habs Go!

Great GDT kinot!

Excited to see Vanek, but the Gorges injury sucks. Also excited to see Weaver.

Agreed. This game is going to be exciting. I can't wait!

I'm interested to see where Vanek is going to be placed in the lineup.

any word on the lineup? curious about who dresses, who sits and what the lines are!

There's honestly nothing. Trust me I've been waiting for updates, they're so hush hush about it. Grrr

Hoping to see a consistent effort tonight. It would be nice if we could actually play a full 60 minutes like we did during the first period yesterday. Maybe the new guy can give the spark we need to put the ugly wins to rest for a little while at least. One can only dream, right?

Also, it will be very disappointing if Eller sits again tonight. Something about playing White, Moen, Weise and Parros over our second best defensive center and most physical skilled forward does not sit right at all. It would have been even worse if we had lost that shootout last night. We could have really used him.

Gonna be good to see Vanek play. I think the Habs may do a line such as Galchenyuk/Vanek/Pacioretty, just to get a fast offensive line that does'nt rely on 25% of the offence coming from the blue line. But, it honestly does'nt matter what I think, it matters what MB thinks.

Haha I don't mind the late game, I take early, late, whatever. I go to bed every day at like 5 am anyways and like wake at 7 in the morning. I'm ready for action, lets do this!

Gah! and a late game! :P lol.

of course with the way MT juggles lines, i dont think it really matters where any of these guys start off :P

You're definitely right. Oh that man is so unpredictable. But I still would have liked to have an idea. I'm not surprised that we don't know who Vanek will play with, but everything else isn't necessary. Oh well, surprises tonight it is :P. I guess my birthday just came early . Regardless, I predict a very exciting game. I can't wait! :D

We so do. I can't remember the last time I was able to say we had that on our team. I'm so excited...counting down the hours.

Budaj starting. Eller back in!

Bouillon, Parros and Weise not playing.

I'm not happy at all about Weise not playing.

Oh and obviously we all know Gorgie isn't playing tonight due to a hand injury,
