Flying_Lion
Game 67 Boston @ MontrealWednesday, March 12th, 2014 – 7:30pm@ SEASON SERIES December 5th, 2013 - Bruins 1 @ Habs 2 January 30th, 2014 - Habs 4 @ Bruins 1 March 12th, 2014 - Bruins @ Habs March 24th, 2014 - Habs @ Bruins GAME THOUGHTS Thomas Vanek will be playing his first game at the Bell Centre wearing the right colours. He has played 53 career games against Boston, netting 30 goals and adding 31 assists for 61 points, posting +21 along the way. Boston has proven to be Vanek's favourite opponent in terms of production, with Toronto (49GP, 22G-26A-48PTS, +8) coming in second.Whither Carey Price? Will he be back in time for the Bruins? He's practicing with the Team as I type this, all 3 goalies on the ice. Price has played 29 games against Boston, posting a 17-8-3 record with a .919 save percent and 2.5 GAA. Budaj, on the other hand, is 4-1-0 in 6 games versus the Bruins, with an equal .919 save percent and a slightly better 2.35 GAA. At the other end of the ice, Tuukka Rask is 2-10-2 in 15 games against Montreal, with an .899 save percent and 2.88 GAA. I know I'm posting fairly early so I'll leave further details regarding line-ups, starting goalies, and other relevant info to those who come after me. I'll be working during the game and am praying there will be ample opportunity to tune a television or computer towards this 889th meeting between these two bitter rivals. Until then, and always forever, GO HABS GO!

Flying_Lion
Great GDT. Looking forward to this one. BTW our points leader is now Vanek, not PK Thanks! Good point, that. I never thought of it. I was using the Canadiens website, which must be biased. It lists him as 2GP, 0-0-0, -1. Hopefully after tomorrow night, he'll have erased that minus sign and gotten rid of all those donuts.
kinot-1
Terrific GDT FL. Francis Bouillon will play against the Bruins with Therrien saying he would announce the rest of his lineup on game day. While Price is progressing, he’s still listed as day-to-day and won’t face the Bruins. Brandon Prust, who has fully recovered from an upper-body injury, took part in Tuesday’s practice and will face the Bruins. copied and pasted by your's truly. kinot-1
Soupy in the lineup. Any word on who's spot he's in for?? I know Murray was given the day off yesterday. I would imagine that after today's practice, we'll know who is definitely in or out. . On another note. Since Dec. 3 the Canadiens' power play is 17-for-120, a success rate of 14.2 percent. So, we're not scoring 5 on 5,,,,nor the PP,,, and we can't depend on scoring SH goals, or hope for the opposition's own goals. This game should be "interesting" if nothing else. I still would really really like to see the EGG line back together (maybe an ingame adjustment) as I think Vanek on a checking line is a waste and Gallagher would do better off of that line but its a step in the right direction. I think id rather see Weise play than Moen right now. I know Moen is probably only 2nd to Plekanec in MT's confidence level on the PK but for much of the game I think Weise brings an element that Moen doesnt with his speed. At the very least Weaver - he's looked very solid since coming over. I guess he's not "big enough" like that is important. Beat them on the scoresheet & it wont matter what size we are. kinot-1
This and That From Mitch Gallo tweet: Habs vs Bruins (Gallagher 3 assists, +3) (Campbell -3, Thornton -2, Chara -2) From Tony Marinaro tweet: Habs are 8-4-1 with Rene Bourque out of the lineup this season and 27-20-6 with him in. That's a .615 winning % . Dougie Hamilton scratched tonight vs Habs Thomas Vanek stats vs Boston Bruins this season: 5 pts in 4 games (1g, 4a) Rask is 2-13 against the Habs.
