Flying_Lion
The Drive For 25 begins again. Round 1 A3 vs A2 VS. Game 1 Montreal @ Tampa Bay Wednesday, April 16, 2014 7:00pm @ SEASON SERIES Lightning 3-0-1 (7 pts) Habs 1-1-2 (4 pts) November 12th, 2013 - Tampa Bay 2 @ Montreal 1 (SO) December 28th, 2013 - Montreal 2 @ Tampa Bay (SO) February 1st, 2014 Tampa Bay 2 @ Montreal 1 (OT) April 1st, 2014 - Montreal @ Tampa Bay 3 Season Stats There's probably other information worth gathering. I thought about looking into goaltending comparisons but I honestly don't know who in Tampa Bay to target for that sort of thing. Injuries (and arrests) are relevant, too. The Habs may be getting Eller and Prust back for the game but I don't know what's up in Tampa Bay. I'll leave it up to the rest of you to fill in the blanks. As always, (Still Canada's Team after 21 Years. Let's get the job done right this time!) As I posted this, I just caught that Bishop is being ruled out for tomorrow night. jedimaas
Great GDT As I posted this, I just caught that Bishop is being ruled out for tomorrow night. Yes, he hasnt practiced with the team either so one has to think that even if he is cleared in a day or 2, he may well miss another few. I think he's unlikely for this round at all but if he comes back he will rush it & probably not be his old self. They still wont be a pushover but I think we'd beat them with bishop & without, I think we'll do so in less games.
HabsRuleForever
Awesome way to start off the series FL! If we can get some secondary scoring we got this, no problem.

Bishop was back on the ice today at practice, but was in partial gear and was really just skating around. Didn't look close to a return, but the media seem to think there's a decent chance he'll be back before the end of the series. We need to try and stockpile wins before they have any shot of getting him back.

We should have had the Rocket do a few laps to one-up them.
BigTed3
That's Tamps trying to get in our player's heads. Gamesmanship. We should have had the Rocket do a few laps to one-up them. Could very well be the case. When I saw Bishop land, my first thought was that he had a hyper-extended elbow, although he could easily have a wrist injury too. For a hyperextended elbow, the typical timeframe listed that I can find on the internet seems to be about 3-4 weeks for a professional athlete. That might just keep Bishop out of the series, but it would be nice to try and wrap this up in 4 or 5 so we don't get to that three-day break and a chance to see him back. Eyez
Ewww ... TSN :Craig Button does his little bracket picks... Not only does he have Tampa beating the Habs in rd 1 , but he has Boston winning the cup (pukes on keyboard). As for Bishop coming back... "if" he does , we obviously KNOW where to shoot (& we should shoot there OFTEN !)

Not only does he have Tampa beating the Habs in rd 1 , but he has Boston winning the cup (pukes on keyboard). First, TSN and CBC traditionally pick against the Habs, so take it for what it's worth. Conversely, a lot of the Montreal media sides with picking Montreal. It is what it is. Second, Button is among the Toronto media for whom I have pretty little respect as a prognosticator. His picks for the draft and in the playoffs rarely pan out, and he passes himself off as an expert without having any credentials. There's a reason he hasn't been re-employed in the NHL. He didn't even have a reason for picking Tampa other than saying he thinks they'll overcome Bishop's injury (which isn't really a reason).

jennifer_rocket
I'm glad they left Murray off of the game one starting roster. I'll take Bouillon over Murray, thank you. It should be an interesting night. Eller returning to the lineup. Prust returning to the lineup. Bournival getting his first play-off game. NewfoundlandHab
He will be on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher. Has this been confirmed? It seems likely because of the lines yesterday, but last I heard on Twitter no lines were confirmed because it was an optional practice today. habsftw19
Found this post on the Tampa Bay HF forum... this is a lightning fan.. "We are toast. How do we compete with a true hockey market? We have to ride a back up goalie. That is a discussion into itselfWhen they shut down Stamkos we will have NO CHANCE. No vinny No Marty the Canadians own Stamkos he is just a non factor. All we have is a a good azz beard. They have a better one thoughThe kids have no real playoff experience and gonna fold like a deck of cards when they face adversity.Oh the dread"

Habsology2
Just read on HIO: "The scratches for the Habs in Game 1 are expected to be Travis Moen, Ryan White and George Parros up front and Douglas Murray and Jarred Tinordi on defence." If Murray and Tinordi are both out, then is there a possibility that Beaullieu would be in? If so, then I give MT a lot of credit for recognizing the better defenseman... Sounds like someone got to MT. Maybe all of our posts on the forum, no? No. I guess this means expect around 35 minutes of ice time for Bouillon..... No. I guess this means expect around 35 minutes of ice time for Bouillon..... Yeah, I forgot. This is MT we're talking about after all. We can probably expect the following D corps: Subban-Georges Markov-Emelin Weaver-Bouillon Does anyone else think that this corps would look 1000% better if it were: Subban-Georges Markov-Emelin Weaver-Beaullieu
Manatee-X
I would be absolutely shocked to see Bealieu in over Weaver, but I think that that was pretty much a given coming into the playoffs. I'm more interested in how Therrien sets up his pairings and distributes his minutes. Bouillon may be in, but it really comes down to how much of a starring role he's given.
