vegasrick
As much as I'm stoked to see the last of the Bruins, to move on to the next round, let's hear it for the real accomplishment - the one everyone enjoys, regardless of loyalty - ... No more Rene Rancourt! Great job, Team. Even if we don't hoist the Cup, you've done the public a service. This.....although, unless someone actually runs him over with a truck, he might be back next season.... Justice is finally served. The forces of evil are vanquished. ....or "juiced" So game on Saturday at 12:30 eastern...way early! 9:30 am for us in the West. Gonna be grizzled and sleepy-eyed. Hey, sorry about that, but I have both a rehearsal and a concert scheduled for Saturday, so we had to set the game early. Maybe game 2 will be in the evening. southernhabfan
Multiple sources reporting the same thing... that he threatened both guys. Clearly he's a classless person, not just a dirty player. But you can tell that's not just him, that's the entire Bruins culture. From the Ference finger to the Thornton water squirt to Boychuk cross-checking everything that moves in the face to Chara deliberately breaking Pacioretty's neck to Marchand butt-ending Plekanec before the face-off... they're a giant pile of trash. As we've all said, it's great to see the Habs move on and almost as great to know Boston got knocked out as well.If this is all true...he truly is a classless player..and it is only fitting that he plays on such a classless team (even though they are a great team)

kinot-1
According to a report on Boston sports radio—which, to be fair, is probably about as accurate as a stopped watch—Lucic threatened Weise and Emelin in the handshake line. Breaking news: Milan Lucic is human trash. Water is wet, and the sky during daytime is primarily blue. NOW THAT is absolutely despicable.

Encouraging violent and antisocial behaviour to an extent that wouldn't even come close to being tolerated in any other league in the world. I don't know what it'll finally take to make the North American hockey media wake up and evolve their sensibilities, but I dread to think what it might be. vegasrick
SHAVE DA BEAR! SHAVE DA BEAR!!! LOL poke poke poke poke OK, you can stop now......it's been dead for a while. That was some never ending 3rd period, play stopping every 20 second. I'm so relieved this is over, I'm not sure I would have lasted much longer. Phew! I'll join the chorus: I'm just glad Boston lost So is this guy: I don't know, but I DO know how saaaaad Emrick and McGuire were when we got the third goal. You could hear them holding back sighs and losing most of their pep. Slime, all of them. NBC is a stable of repulsive, biased broadcasters. A disgrace to their profession. And they got burned. I love it. I really, really love it. NBC couldn't have cheered harder for Boston in the last few years, and now they have to report on their "premature" departure from the playoffs. It's glorious stuff. Amen. Enjoy it for all it's worth!
paddypuck
Favourite part of the game?- a tie -between the three or four times Chara tripped over his skatelaces-and the bank shot Daniel B. put in off his size twenty-threes-hahaha....Too bad, Big Z- now,go over to Don Cherry's house with Mrs. Lucy and that little ball of hate,Marsha and have a big bottle of whine-and complain about how the refs picked on poor widdle Boston Teddy-bears-(who never, ever play the game with anything but strict attention to the rules...hah)... With any other team, I would say I'm not being a sportsmanlike winner, but hey-look at who it is that got beat. I know it's been almost twenty years since the Cup was back in Montreal (or anywhere in Canada, for that matter) but...hard to imagine even that feeling better than defeating the evil empire in seven. Add on Kevin Paul Dupont's anti-gay slur and the racist tweets/ fans throwing things at Subban... this is a sports team that's built an entire culture of being classless and aggressive and unapologetic. It's the proverbial you-are-what-you-eat and the Bruins feed Boston all kinds of low-level classlessness. The dominoes are falling,,, seems like '93 all over again. To some extent, but would have said the same thing in 2010 when as a #8 seed, we knocked off the two top seeds and then had the #7 to deal with and fell badly. At least this time, we're the home-ice team... in theory, we're the in the Philadelphia seat this year. Really wonder if the experts are going to pick against us or see us as a favorite this time. It's the proverbial you-are-what-you-eat and the Bruins feed Boston all kinds of low-level classlessness. You are what you eat, and you reap what you sow. Boston's recent success seems to have wiped everyone's memory of how pathetic that franchise was for significant portions of time in the mid/late 90s until a few seasons after the lockout. It lost money hand over fist. Seats were empty, sometimes worse than these days in Florida. Utter and complete apathy. Before game six, I was looking on Twitter and someone (I wish I could remember who) said that Boston acts like a late-90s expansion team despite being one of the oldest and supposedly most storied franchises in the league. And I think that's incredibly insightful. Jeremy Jacobs has decided that the way he'll stop losing money on his hockey team is by appealing to lowlife thugs. The NHL and its broadcast partners have been more than happy to assist him. We won tonight, and we should be incredibly happy, but this isn't the end. This stuff needs to be talked about. Does anyone really think CBC/Sportsnet/NBC are going to do it? From TSN radio,,",lucy told someone that "I will get you" So, if Lucic does anything in 2014-15, every single individual who follows hockey even casually will know it's premeditated, and the NHL player safety department won't hesitate to hand down a significant and harsh suspension. I'm sure we all believe that, right? Right?

I'm sure we all believe that, right? Right? Wouldn't count on it. Chara had been going after Pacioretty regularly after Pacman shoved Chara in a prior game post game-winning goal... he sought him out in team scuffles, he went out of his way to hit him, etc. Yet when Chara broke his neck, the NHL deemed there was no motive. Lucic has got off for his three spears, his run over Miller, etc... don't see the league taking this seriously.

paddypuck
lucy is trash. Only way thsi night could get any better is if i hear hear he has been put on suicide watch He definitely is one of the most despicable so-called professionals, ever to lace 'em up. And that's joining some pretty ugly company, when you look at it. The sad thing,(other than that he hasn't been banned from the NHL, and I don't even think the KHL would welcome his sorry act) is that he could be a good, fairly talented forward, if he used his head for something other than cooking up insane ideas about what constitutes "good tough hockey".From his vicious spear on Emelin, to his drunken fighting and threats in Vancouver (both within the last couple months, even) to his pathetic antics tonight, I really can't figure him-other than he's a total nut-case, in the Avery mold (as in black mould)- I have totally lost any respect I had for Don Cherry, and Jerome Iginla as well. The Bruins have completely become a no-class act all the way through the organization it seems. The Habs played their hand well tonight-goading them into taking stupid penalties right off the puck drop-(granted, it sure isn't hard to get the Goons to react with typical over-the-top retaliation idiocy). I almost feel sorry for a real player like Bobby Orr who has to go to the games to watch what passes for competitiveness in Boston.

The Whole team looks better than the 2010 team, I think we actually have a shot at the Finals this year!!! GO HABS GO!! GREAT JOB TONIGHT WELL DESERVED!!! I totally agree. I don't think either the Rangers or the Pens would have advanced past the ECF. Rags have the better goalie, but man, they can put up some real stinkers. I'm amazed they made it this far. But this is Montreal's year. No way that series even goes seven games. As a post-series note… Wow, is anyone else super glad Boston traded Tyler Seguin? I don't think we come close to winning this series if they have him. Meh.....I don't think he would have made that much of a difference. Maybe he's one of the goal scorers in the four-goal third period in Game 2, or gets one in Game 5 (the worst one the Habs played), but the Habs would have simply contained him in place of whoever he replaces. I like Seguin, but it's still a team game. When the Habs played good hockey, it didn't matter who was in the other sweaters.
