Montreal must adjust it's defense. For this series, the Rangers are closing the gap, giving no time for the defense to take a shot. Montreal

has to find that sweet spot twenty five feet out from New York's net. In Montreal's own end, flick the puck out, to a speeding forward. No chance for New york to forcheck.

go habs go!

That's the way, CRB! The Statue of Liberty wearing the winning sweater!

This series is FAR from over. So much doom and gloom in these boards.

Look, many of us have seen countless meltdowns and collapses over the years, all of them very frustrating because we knew then, like we know now, that the team could have done better.

I'm not of the opinion that the Rangers are an unbeatable powerhouse. Just last series, I saw some of the poorest hockey I've ever seen exhibited by them. It was how they went down 3-1 to the Pens, before the Pens imploded.

Plus, we just beat the top team in the NHL, a feat no one thought we could pull off. Why would beating the Rangers be more difficult?

Oh, but we lost Carey Price for the series, that's why. Really? I thought this was a team sport. Too bad we don't know of any times in history where a backup goalie came in and won a series. I guess that means it's impossible.

COME ON. The ONLY reason the Habs will lose this series is if they have given up themselves. And if we realize that by the way they play, then I'll probably give up on them. I have no desire to continue watching a team that doesn't believe it can win.

BUT....if they come out and skate like they can, play hockey like they can, outshoot, outhit and outhustle these stupid Oily Rags, they have a better chance of taking this series than they ever did in the first two rounds of 2010.

It's up to them. Not the Rangers. Not us. The Habs.

Geez , VR just yesterday in the " State of the Habs " thread you were writing them off ........what changed ?

Hmm...was that yesterday? lol Honestly, I probably will write them off if they just show me once again that they don't care. But this season they actually have the personnel to go all the way. They beat the Boo-ins, they can surely beat the Rags. I will be watching tomorrow.....but for how long, who knows?

D-Day. Final chance to salvage something from this series. Fight for survival. Hopefully, the boys can pull a repeat Game 6 performance but...

Anyway, by this stage, I can finally watch the game without the heart-attacks and nerve-biting moments. Just relax and watch quality professional hockey whatever the outcome.

All the best and good luck! Go Habs Go! :)

The poll is 100% accurate !

Game 3... if we win , we might "do" something ... if we lose , we "die" .

The whole goalie thing is NOT the cause of the do or die either .

Price played A+ , but pucks still got by him , & pucks will get by DT or Buds.

Tampa (4 games) 10 goals against - 16 for Habs

Booin (7 games) 16 goals against - 20 for Habs

Rags (2 games) 10 against - 3 for Habs

the 1st 2 series we DID get scored on ( & its was close in the end) but we scored a few more... Rangers have scored over TRIPLE the goals the Habs have in our 1st 2 games.

DT can wall up the net , still dosent matter if the Habs can't get one by King H .

"ALL" I have seen in the 1st 2 games is "one & done" , out of the Habs (short of the 1st 3 or 4 mins of game 2)

"If" we shoot ( & that's a BIG "if") its ONE shot & out... no rebounds , no screen , & we are heading back to our end....

Habs need shots "ON" the net (not over or wide) & then at least 2 guys going for the REBOUND ! (out shooting the Rags is nothing if King H sees them all & they come from a mile away)

We swept Tampa , a team ALOT like ours (101 points to our 100) & then took out the #1 (Booins)... now we have the "bottom" team left & we have 3 goals in 2 games ?

NO !! King H is not "that" good !

GO HABS GO !!! (SCORE !)

I would nearly venture to say winner of this game probably gets the odds to win this series. Even though we would be down 2-1 if we win, the swing would be huge.

Obviously lots of hockey to play but if Montreal comes out blazing & wins, i think they can ride that momentum all the way - plus it will mean they'll finally get their heads clear. If NY wins, well its all but over, nevermind the LA comeback, 3-0 is a huge hole that is basically insurmountable unless Price made a miraculous recovery for game 4 or something.

Go boys. I believe.

I think that now that Tokarski has played a game and had a practice or 2, his head will be in the game more. It's not like the last game where he was more or less thrust into the game. Granted, he gave up (IMO) an iffy goal, but I expect him to be more into the game tonight.

Habs are 5-15 when trailing after 2 games.

There's Hope :P:)

In other news,,, Bettman was named Sports Executive of the year. <_<

All hope was lost with the last line of your post. *shaking my head*

...

Well done on the Thread, CRB. Let's hope the Habs brought their brushes to paint the Big Apple bleu-blanc-et-rouge!

Do indeed. It is not at all a good day to die. GO HABS GO!

This game IMO will come down to whether our veterans can step up. It means guys who can deliver more but haven't, like Plekanec, Markov, Prust, Vanek, and Gionta have to not only play hard but have to get results as well. I suspect the Plekanec line will find a spark tonight and that Galchenyuk will provide us with some sorely lacking offence. The other aspect of things is that we need to be as disciplined as we were at the start of the Bruins series, where we just laughed off everything they did and took the PP's.
