All I ever read about Tiny is that he should fight,in his first interview as a HAB he said he did not want to be a fighter like his Dad,I don't think just because he is big he should be forced to fight,to please other people,just work and try to be the best player he can,thats all anybody has the right to ask of him.

GO TINY GO :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Good start to the season for Tinordi. He's made some mistakes, but still a pleasant surprise for me. You can't teach size and he's got plenty of it. I personally feel he skates pretty well for a big guy and he's physical. I think he will develop in to a reliable stay at home D-man for us over time.

His size can be a bit of a negative at times, he looks too big and kind of falls all over himself. I wonder if his development would go smoother at 6'3-6'4. Anyway he's been good so far this year but I didn't like his game vs Vancouver and that combined with a losing effort means I wouldn't mind Beaulieu getting a crack tomorrow (today).

As the year goes on, I think sitting Weaver the odd time and letting them both play makes a lot of sense.

It may also make sense to send Beaulieu down again and bring up Pateryn to see if he could replace Weaver at some time.

Pateryns contract is two-way this year and one-way next year. Given Weaver's age and one year contract, I imagine management hopes to do just this next year. Would definitely like to see him play this year before throwing him in next year.

Yeah, put the puck in his feet and he flounders.

He is certainly still clumsy with the puck and hasn't found a knack at making a good first pass, but his position is sound on the ice so that is a sign of better things to come.

Yes he is, but so is Bo and Bo supposedly has better 1st pass due to his off-dman title.

The speed is quite different than the AHL or any other league for a matter of fact. They've been burnt before holding onto the puck for too long. So now they're forced to make split second decision which they're not use to, yet.

It's all part of the learning process.

Defensively it seems that tinordi knows what he has to do and where to be. But even some bottom 9 guys have more skill than your average AHLer. They're going to exploit green/wet behind the ears young dmen. Just have to be patient, it's always harder for a defensive dman than an offensive one. The game is always easier when you're in possession of the puck, which isn't the case when tinordi is called upon. It's usually a bit more obvious, their struggles, with a defensive dman compared to an offensive one.

Both Bo and Tinordi are going to make mistakes. It's how they learn, hopefully they remember what happened, what they did wrong and hope to improve or change the way they went about it so the same thing doesn't happen again. I don't worry about these things, not from young men like Bo and Tinordi, what bothers me is when guys like Weaver and Gilbert commit errors we expect from the youngins, not them.

to quote my father " Dont do as I do, do as I say"

It is frustrating to see the rookies are on such a shorter leash when it coems to making errors. Like any job you make a few mistakes and the boss starts riding you about it you start to get down on yourself.

My favorite part of last nights game was Nathan's little altercation at the end of the 3rd. Takes a hit, guy mouths off and Nathan smacks him around. That is the team attitude I want to see out there. Someone gets mouthy you put him in his place. They will soon learn you don't shove one of our team around. They will learn soon enough you don't make a run at Price.

Has anyone been following the Bulldogs and can comment on how Tinordi has been since being returned to the AHL?

I'd say he'd be my pick for best defenseman, I'd like to see him improve his puck handling and speed a bit more, but he makes up for it by being an imposing physical presense and being a grinder that doesn't quit.
