jedimaas
I would hope he passes on the ASG if he's not absolutely 100%. Knowing Price he's probably fine & feigning injury just so that his good buddy PK gets the nod in his place Seriously though, like everyone i hope its nothing too serious. Its a good time of year to have something minor - take some days off, let Tokarski get some more games under his belt & no harm done. I feel much more confident with Waite as the GC that they wont allow him to come back before he's ready (unlike we saw earlier in CP's career)

ColRouleBleu
“We don’t know if he’ll be ready for our next game or the All-Star Game, but it’s nothing major, so there’s no need to worry. It just depends on how his treatment goes. He felt good enough to be the backup after receiving treatment in Ottawa, but yesterday morning he felt a bit stiff, which is why as a preventative measure, he’s not playing tonight.” - Michel Therrien
BigTed3
We'll see if Price plays next game, but if he's less than 90%, it makes sense to sit him against Nashville and not send him to the ASG and let him get 10 days off to heal. My own feeling is that if you miss the last two games before the ASG because of injury, you shouldn't be playing in the ASG either. Last year, Price got hurt at the Olympics and it hurt us down the stretch a bit. Can't afford to let him aggravate an injury in a meaningless game. MergenTatara
Doesn't bode well for the game against Predators . Especially against Pekka Rinne on the other end, statistically the best NHL goalie so far?

kinot-1
Rinne's out 3-5 weeks. No-one feels sorry for us when we have a player injured, so I don't feel sorry for them, or anyone else.

Well the Olympics are a different animal because it hurt us temporarily down the stretch but it may have helped advance Price's career and anyway, there were legit stakes. Price won't push to play a period in an exhibition game, if I see him playing in the ASG I'll take it as a very positive sign that he's 100%

I was all for Price going to the Olympics, it just blew that he got hurt there. If there was another Olympic tourney, I would send him again. I'd be less enthusiastic about a guy like Markov or Gonchar going because they're old enough that they have that experience already and need the rest more, but I think guys should have the right to represent their countries. The ASG, though, is a farce and worth nothing. If anything, it's awful for the goalies to be peppered with shots and risk getting hurt playing cold for one period. I would without hesitation ban Price from going if I were MB and he wasn't healthy enough to play the Nashville game.

I mean, Price seems to be one of the guys who has had fun with it in his past ASGs and that's cool but for me, if he goes it's because he's 100% healthy and he genuinely wants to because he has a good built in excuse not to go. I'm not stressed either way about it, I'd prefer he didn't but the effort level and competition level of those periods are pretty near practice and he'd probably practice during the week anyway. Not really a huge risk IMO.

jedimaas
After yet another game where we probably didnt deserve to win (save that 3rd period/OT) you have to wonder if Price can pull this team to the cup all by himself. We've been talking about our 'slow starts' all year but i think its as much to do with Price frustrating the other team for 2 periods until they get knocked off their game plan & we capitalize. We've been talking about our 'slow starts' all year but i think its as much to do with Price frustrating the other team for 2 periods until they get knocked off their game plan & we capitalize. i just checked the Conn Smythe winners for the last 25 years, and 8 of them were goalies. IMO, the Conn Smythe is the equivalent of the Hart trophy for the POs. Having said that, the goalies who won the Conn Smythe carried/dragged their teams to the promised land, even tho their teams in front of them, "may" not have deserved the cup by their play. We've all seen teams win games because of their goalie. We've seen goalies steal games, PO series, and even the cup (Patrick), because of their play. Can Carey do it? Hard to say. If he is 100% healthy, why not?

fnveenie
With Rinne out for a few weeks, I wonder if that will be enough to push Price up to leading candidate for the Vezina. Rinne has a much stronger team infront of him, but that doesn't always seem to matter. (see Thomas, Tim)

If price can manage to finish in the top 3 in SV and GAA with as many starts as he's likely to get and the wins? he should be a strong favourite to win. The Vezina is a 30 person vote (its just the GMs who vote it) so I think those factors would be enough to earn him the award if he can keep it up. Most GMs work for American teams so even if it's close Price will lose out just as PK wasn't picked for the all-star game.
