jedimaas
Ive always been a big Malholtra fan. Unfortunately, like when we got Juneau, Bonk and Lang, we are once again getting a guy well past his prime but you cant dislike the contract. He should add stability and strength to that 4th line & make us harder to play against. I would have still preferred to retain white - although that really has nothing to do with Malholtra and everything to do with Management.
BeanCountingHab
What I like about this signing is that it gives us the ability to use the 4th line in a sacrificial role like we did 2012-13. That's going to open up more offensive opportunities for guys like Eller and Plekanec.
jennifer_rocket
I like that he wins face-offs. I feel like we were missing a really good face-off man last year.

maddienmike
Always liked this guy, glad to see he is still playing after the injury to his eye, just proves what guts and determination he has,a bit more character for the team, just got to love it.Perhaps he can give face off clinics, when Halpern was here he improved our face off in the other players, hoping Manny can do the same. GO HABS GO All The WAY

jennifer_rocket
Although it was just one game, he was dominant in the circle. 11-5 for a winning percentage of 68.8%.

That's a good thing... no doubt. Actually I was impressed with his speed compared to Prust and Weise.
MkGee
We never would of won that many faceoffs last year.. Vancouver was the same way after Manny showed up they became better in the dot... and it was one game but it looks like he's carried that here now... also he's an exceptional leader from what i understand about the man. Semantics
I'd like to see him work with Galcenyuk during practice. Nah. Let Galchenyuk work on one (or two) things at a time. I don't get this big rush to get a 20-year-old to play centre and win the Habs the Cup this very season all by himself. I guess maybe I'm just not a linear thinker. How many more things is he working on? I dont think it would hurt to have him practice face-offs a bit this season. I dont really think there is a rush, but there's no harm in working on his faceoff skills so that he's better when the time comes. Malholtra would be a GREAT guy to learn from and he might only be here for 1 year.

powerplay2009
I didn't realize he has the wheels that he does. Much better skater than I anticipated. That actually makes me think if Bournival might be a better fit on a line with Weise and Malhotra than Prust...
Manatee-X
My favourite part about having Malholtra on the team is that Plekanec is not longer locked into taking every single defensive zone faceoff. I know it's only been two games, but so far it's been hard to argue with letting Pleks have a bit more offensive freedom

FirstStar
He comes as advertised. Experienced bottom guy centre, a PK specialist and a beast on the draws. So far pretty please with his efforts. Our habs actually were better on draws last night than the b's. That's always been a very strong part of their puck possession game. In 2011 when they won the cup, they had no PP goals, but their strong work on draws balanced things out.
jedimaas
He comes as advertised. When i heard we signed him I was happy as I was always a fan - even back in his days in Dallas & then Columbus I felt like he was the type of guy that would be good to get if the price was right. Then I heard that he was essentially taking white's place which felt a little like a lateral move (while getting a lot older) to me. I was wrong. Whether or not White could have done what Malholtra has done so far is not really up for debate (he most likely could not have) but I can guarantee you that Therrien would have never given White the opportunity to do so. He (MT) has lots of faith in that 4th line which means way way better matchups for our top 9 now because the Malholtra line can take on a lot of responsibility that we would previously never give the 4th line. Its changed the whole dynamics of the team & while Malholtra is not the only player on that 4th line, he is the missing link that we required (between Moen, Prust and/or Weiss) to give Therrien this option. The other thing is that if a guy like Bournival is being cultivated to play on the 4th line/checking role back at his natural centre position, who better to learn from than Malholtra. Perhaps our 4th line of the future will be Prust-Bournival-Weiss...
