Guest
I'd rather he contribute in regulation time so we don't need to go to a shootout. This^^
jedimaas
Definetely not fitting in as well as he seemed to early in the season. Not sure if he can play effectively in the bottom 6 and he hasnt been consistent enough to earn a spot in the top 6...
jeff33
im gonna go ahead and say that 1. he was nothing special to the eye test from day 1, but like ryder, seems to be a guy who kinda doesnt do anything but ends up on the score sheet so ok.... 2. he stopped getting on the score sheet a while ago 3. has been freaking atrocious since he came back from injury. maybe its time he stops getting top 6 minutes and PP time?? for a bit? since you know its who earns it more.... Thing is, with Patches, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Eller, Plekanec and Sekac (plus a few key guys in Hamilton) I dont see how he's a better option now - or going forward - in our 6. You can play him on the third line (prust - DD - PAP) but i worry that line will get exploited, especially over a long playoff series. I cant fathom that he would thrive in a 4th line role. Id be quietly shopping him, maybe as part of a package, to see if there's any interest. There are a few bottom feeder teams who probably would have space for him in the top 6 (I dont believe we do) and may have interest.
Guest
Personally,,,,,i wouldn't be doing it quietly. I would be shouting it from the rooftops. I don't see any use for him in our lineup other then a shootout spot. Big disappointment.

BigTed3
Is he concussed again? Yes. According to MT, he had a "second concussion" although he likely just has late symptoms of the first one... either way, he's sitting at least a week, if not longer. Habberwacky
This trade is turning into a bit of a wash and if we can get a late pick for him I would not complain. With Thomas and Andrighetto providing some energy and Weise so far handling duties that may be more related to developing a top checking line Parenteau's absence may not be that damaging. Desharnais and PK are providing a lot of enregy on the power play and we seem to be moving in the right direction without Parenteau. It may also provide the opportunity to take a look at Reway's abilities toward the end of the season.
MergenTatara
When he returns, keep him on the bench until we get to a shootout .

jedimaas
F5 Eklund bomb PA will play tonight. You know im as big of an Eklund Hater as most but in fairness to him, because a player doesnt get moved, doesnt mean he wasnt shopped. If PAP was UFA this summer, i think he would have been moved but since he's not he's ours. Too bad Colorado didnt have a return policy Not trying to be mean to PAP but id rather have Briere knowing that we're free and clear of either contract after this season vs. 1 more of PAP after this one. Guest
I'll give him Kudos for tonight. Looked invisible out there most of the year but he actually looked dangerous tonight. Good on him getting that 5 ton monkey off his back.

Good on him getting that 5 ton monkey off his back. This is perhaps one of my biggest pet peeves about hockey. Of course he looked invisible, that's his game! Watch how he plays on the goal, he just kinda floats his way to a dead spot on the top of the circle and evades coverage. That's what most of the best goal scorers do, Kessel, Vanek, Heatley, Pacioretty, Ovechkin, etc etc. Whenever they're not scoring they get called invisible because it looks like they're not trying hard, when what they're doing is finding open spots on the ice and trying to stay out of coverage. When it works, it looks fantastic, and when it doesn't work it looks lazy. Parenteau isn't a superstar but he has a history of producing at the NHL level. He's been a solid possession guy all year and had some rough injury and shooting luck, I feel like Parenteau should have a bit more leash with the coaching staff and fanbase. He's a pretty smart player, and I think he's better off playing a positional game even if it does look like he's floating at times.
Guest habs1952
I'm not enamored with PAP but man, I'm sure happy he came through at the most opportune time. In the grand scheme of things, players don't score every time they're on the ice so I guess that's what we hope for from any player.
PuckPundit
The only player who shed tears after play-off exit . The rest of the millionaires could shrug it off and pack their golf clubs.
