HabsRuleForever
I'm sure, from time to time, someone might have something negative to say about our team's play this upcoming season. If so this is the place for that. If you need to vent please do so within forum rules found here: http://fans.canadiens.nhl.com/community/topic/10914-terms-of-use-code-of-conduct/
CANADIENS27
The fact the signing took this long and barely avoided an arbitrator's decision.

habsisme
$7.8 mil on 3 bottom six players: Bourque, Purst, Moen. I don't think it really matters now and I imagine they will be a lot easier to move in the off season when they all have just one year left. Although, IMO we shouldn't move Prust. 0 for 10 on the PP. Damn! That is NOT good! And very bad starts too. Let's not judge too much until we have a few games at home first though. The other team is always a little more pumped to play at home this early in the season
Semantics
Habs starting out where they left off last season ... amongst the league leaders in short-handed situations. Yeah, amongst the many, many things a team has to work on, it always strikes me as one of the easier ones to address, especially for a good skating team. We use 'consequence' (time out, no allowance) with the kids. Works like a charm. 'Behaviour modification", we call it in parenting. Season's early. Let Eller sit in the other penalty box (the box seats) for a game or two. See how he is when he comes back.

Semantics
Lars Eller is not the problem with this team. Taking unnecessary penalties is continuing to be a problem with this team, an overhang from last season. The Habs overcame it in their first 3 games of this season playing against three teams none of which made the play-offs last season. They don't get to play all their games against non-play-off teams. Eller leads the team with a minor each game. That'll be 82 for the season at that pace, and 12 goals against, plus lost momentum 82 times. I give Eller as the obvious example and a "time out" as the only proposed strategy. I'm not at all sure it works. I do know I'm not keen on the team maintaining the 5 PK's per game thing. THat's nearly 1 goal a game, even with their good 85% kill rate.
Guest
I know this is the negative thread so i won't argue about our discipline. I would add that we probably need to take into consideration the penalty crazy Lee officiating 2 of those 3 games. That's a negative in itself. Semantics
Lars Eller is not the problem with this team. Yeah, he's just shining out there. 4 GP, 0 goals, 0 assists, -6, 6 PM.
CANADIENS27
A complete disaster and continuing to get behind on the scoreboard. This time, it already caught up with us.
CANADIENS27
We still haven't able to shut out a team in the third period. After six games, we've allowed as many as we've scored.

GreekHockeyCoach
Allowing the first goal for the fifth straight game and the team has trailed in all six. How is that a negative when we're winning those games. I'd rather give up the first goal and win then score first and lose.

Who wouldn't, but sooner or later we'll to find out what this team can do with an early lead and can they build on that.
FirstStar
It's hard to be negative when they're 5-1. One aspect they need to fix, being active right off the first puck drop. Every team dips and peeks throughout a 60 minute game, but it shouldn't happen in the first period, first 10 minutes. Just like in T-Bay, there will be games that they can't come back from. Especially when it happens each and every game. I agree that it's hard to be negative, but this is something that the team as a whole absolutely needs to fix. It's fun to see the comebacks and I'm sure it's great for team morale, but sooner or later we're going to have the bounces start to go against us later in the game. We can't keep putting outselves in a hole.

We can't keep putting outselves in a hole. They weren't able to crawl out in T-Bay. They need to keep reminding themselves of that. As awful as it is, it shows the character of this team. Past hab teams would've slumped their shoulders and given up. There I go be positive again, ugh, it really is hard when they're 6-1. Blue line hasn't been very sharp at times and these slow starts where they give up 1-3 goals, can't continue, they will get burned. Apart from that, I'd have to start nit picking to find issues with the habs.
Guest habs1952
Seeing Desharnais taking faceoffs(or just being on the ice) in the defensive zone very late in the third period with a two goal lead.
