The Tinordi hit sure seemed clean to me. Yes, it was shoulder to head contact but the caps player skated with his head low and actually skated into Tinordi's shoulder.

Not a great game but there were a lot of bad bounces & lets face it, most vets do not "put in their all" during preseason (and thats fine, dont want groin pulls or tweaks as you're getting ready for the season). Its not surprising we won the games with all our kids who were going full tilt, trying to earn spots.

My own observations:

- Sekac looks very good. Probably has the leg up on a roster spot.

- Emelin looking pretty decent so far (a few mistakes) and may just be able to prove he's truly a top 4 guy.

- I know DD played last game but its interesting he was sat tonight & Gally given another chance at centre. Still dont believe MT and MB necessarily see eye to eye on this one. If MB wants Gally at centre, look for him to move DD before training camp.

- Some interesting (not necessarily my choice) line combinations from MT tonight. I know he's just trying different things out but interesting to see.

- Glad to see Eller was not out for long. Looking decent for his first game action.

- Galchenyuk, if given the right ice time and linemates is going to have a huge break-out year this year, mmw. My kids bought me a steven stamkos Mcfarlane figure and said "make this into a Galchenyuk, Dad".... i have a feeling if i dont do it soon, there will be a 'real' one of him by next year.

Looking forward to the start of the regular season!

Fro those who may not have seen Tinordi's hit on Nate Shmidt, here it is. Seems like a clean hit to me. I don't even think he should habve gotten a penalty for that.

Also for your viewing enjoyment. Holtby shakes his mask off after Gally-B tries to get position in front of the net.

Good hustle Eller.

PP Habs.

Goal please.

About half-way through the third period there were 3 habs forwards who, for about 15-20 seconds seemed to have REAL CHEMISTRY. LW-Sekac, C-Eller, RW-Weise. I took them to be an inspired line-juggle by the coach, but I suppose they

were merely united by a sloppy line-change. I'd like to see them tried out together intentionally, because for that short time

they were the best line the habs had out there for the entire game. d-dougie (new member)

Eller/Weise is an interesting idea... on the surface it seems like 'more of the same' in giving eller low-talent linemates, but Weise was no goon in Junior. He filled a role by playing a more physical game but he has some decent hands and way better than 4th line average hockey sense. I could see them actually forming a decent line if the LW (maybe sekac, maybe someone else) was also a quality player. Maybe Galchenyuk-Eller-Weise could be tried (as MT seems certain to move Gally back to the wing).

The other nice thing (if he can handle it) of bumping Weise to 3rd line RW is that it frees up a 4th line spot for Moen or a young prospect. Of course it may mean the end of Rene Bourque in a habs uniform.
