Habs will give youngsters a chance against Blackhawks

Canadiens coach Michel Therrien will give some of the team’s young prospects a chance to strut their stuff during Wednesday night’s preseason game against the Blackhawks in Chicago (8:30 p.m., RDS, TSN Radio 690).

Forwards Jacob De La Rose, Gabriel Dumont, Jake Dowell, Sven Andrighetto, Christian Thomas (photo above) and Drayson Bowman will all be in the lineup, along with defenceman Darren Dietz.

“You never know when it’s your last chance, so I’m going to go out there, do my best and have fun,” Andrighetto said on the Canadiens’ website. “You’re always under pressure, but it just motivates you. It’s all about how you take it. I think pressure is a good thing. It pushes you harder, and makes you play your best.”

Here’s the complete roster for the game, with Carey Price getting the start in goal:

Goalies – Carey Price, Dustin Tokarski.

Defence – Jarred Tinordi, Nathan Beaulieu, Davis Drewiske, Greg Pateryn, Alexei Emelin, Darren Dietz.

Forwards – Brandon Prust, Rene Bourque, Dale Weise, Jacob De La Rose, Jiri Sekac, Gabriel Dumont, Jake Dowell, Michael Bournival, Sven Andrighetto, Christian Thomas, Lars Eller and Drayson Bowman.

Here’s how the lines are expected to look:

Bourque-Eller-Sekac
Bournival-Prust-Weise
De La Rose-Andrighetto-Thomas
Bowman-Dowell-Dumont

That certainly is a rookie lineup.

We had a rookie line-up against the Avs and did alright :) . From what I got from the Hawks site, was that they have a few rookies playing too, but not as many as us.

The window of opportunity is closing for those on the bubble, so I hope that it will be a spirited game.

Evening folks.

I prefer these late starts with a little one at home. Actually get to be here for puck drop.

Unfortunately mom and baby are both ill, some sort of virus.

Made them chicken soup and sent them to bed. :)

Daddy time.

Sorry FS.

You have a dog don't you and what does he say about this? :D
