The necessary info:

Game Time: 7pm ET, 4pm PT, 12am GMT, and 2pm in Honolulu

The Broadcast: TVA, City, and MSG (and RDS for those lucky jerks who will get it..... stupid blackout...), the internet, radio somewhere, and satellite radio

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat's right, I've come out of semi-retirement (or just stopped being lazy) to bring you this actual GDT! This is an honour for those of you who don't know, because while others have pretty graphics, a good sense of humour, and probably better looks.... They just aren't me (and trust me, that's a good thing!)

So, that said, enjoy the game............. (what do you mean, they want more?!?!?! That's not in my contract!.... fine! I'll do it, but this is under protest)

The Background:

The Habs, in all of their glory, are sitting first in the east with 12 points, with 6 wins, and 1 regulation loss. Despite the powerplay not kicking in, PK still taking some bad penalties (but making up for it), just generally bad goals at times. The team is clicking where it counts, and winning games.

The Rangers, uh....... lets see..... appear to be in 9th place..... and are doing........ ok?

This is the first of three meetups for the Habs and Rangers, and the first since the end of the last season, and we all know how that went  . At least New York didn't win, but we didn't get to see Montreal take on the LA Kings in the final for the first time since 1993.

Potential Lineups:

Montreal:

The lineup will include such notables as:

PK "Showtime" Subban

Carey "Carey! Carey! Carey!" Price (unless they play Dustin "The Backup" Tokarski)

Andrei "The Russocanuckian" Markov

Max "WOLVERIIIINE" Pacioretty

Mike "Blockoman" Weaver

Manny "The Aliterator" Malholtra

and more! The lineups have been beaten to death in this thread, so I won't digress much further.

New York:

Is St. Louis still with this team? What about Mr. Fashion..... uhhhh Who else? Who cares?!?! MOVING ON!

That's it, my interest in typing is waning, and if I have much more BEvERages, this thread may become incoherent.

So, however you are seeing the game, GO HABS GO!

Some people may look at this game as an opportunity for revenge in the playoffs, but I don't feel that way :D .

NY Rangers are a different animal in the playoffs ;) (a la Detroit) compared to their regular season performance.

I just want the team to collect the 2 points :) , before going on the road trip again. Maintain an unbeaten home record.

Game #15 eh? :P Great thread! Just a note on your necessary info, there are absolutely no lucky jerks who will get to see RDS, it's not a blackout, they're not broadcasting this game at all ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now Habs, can you score the first goal for a change? However, if this would mean losing the game because we dont know how to keep a lead, then nevermind this request and carry on with the comebacks

Rookie Jiri Sekac will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game.

Coach Michel Therrien has decided to stick with the same lineup that beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in overtime Tuesday night. That means Dale Weise will be on the third line again with Rene Bourque and Lars Eller.

Pointe Claire native Anthony Duclair will be in the Rangers’ lineup. In his first five NHL games, he has three assists and is plus-4.

Refs for tonight: Ghislain Hébert (22), Dan O'Halloran (13)

Afternoon everybody.

Can't wait for tonight's game, been jonesing for hockey, habs longest break to date.

Hope Prust takes care of krieder early, don't need a repeat of last season.

Prust, maybe. Even though it hurts to lose defencemen to the box, I'd actually like to see Tinordi pummel the dirty Ranger.

It's ok to, if it's for a good cause.

Tinordi is another option. But if it came to fighting, I'd rather it be Prust, he's a really strong fighter.

Wasn't it the caps game where he was jumped, sucker punched (while on his back) and still managed to win the fight. :D

Prust often wins fights, but if we're going to try to have a guy inflict damage on the opponent (i.e. avenging a dirty hit, not just trying to generate momentum for the team), I'll take Tinordi as an option based purely on his size.
