Well done, CRB. Well done.

Great call to mark the jersey retirement for 'Pointu'.

Here's to hoping the Habs can do justice by him. For such a legendary "offensive defenseman", it would be great to see PK play a great game.

For sure but I'm kinda hoping to see a special game from Markie who is 3rd for points overall just behind Pointu in the Habs D-men history. Like scoring his career 100th would be quite nice, in the 2nd period right in front of my face would be a bonus

For me its time to decide who we need to think about beating in the playoffs and per CRB i'm going with Pittsburgh.

That's just me.

So thanks for the thread CRB. :)

If your decision was really influenced "per CRB" , you wouldn't have said "Pittsburgh", you'd have said "all other teams" :P

Sekac in, Moen in; Bourque out

Glad Therrien realized Bourque shouldn't be playing no heart and no effort in the past few weeks.

I wouldn't say no heart. He's never really been a physical guy, despite his size.

He's been skating, shooting and has created some chances with Eller. He has had some bad games, where he's looked lifeless.

Offensively he seems to be snakebitten. He has to have missed at least 5 good chances this season. Where he either completely missed the net, fanned on his shot or the tender robbed him.

I have no issues sitting him for Sekac, who's energy is contagious.

Between Moen and RB, I'd probably go with RB. Sekac likes the LW and RB a does well on the RW, both are fast skaters with size, hoping some of Sekac's grit would rub off on RB. I actually liked the way RB started the season, but as his chances continue to result in nothing, he's been showing more and more frustration.

He's never been big on throwing the body, but playing on the 3rd line, it's kind of a requirement.

Nice GDT CRB.

Can't forget Lapointe's number will be raised to the rafters, where it should've been for the last 20 years, at least.

I like that you added that in the GDT.

We wouldn't have had our big 3, without Lapointe. He was as much a part of our blueline as Robinson and Savard. It's about time his efforts are recognized.

Bourque hasn't been lucky, but in terms of effort, I'd disagree with you. He's been saddled with the reputation of being a "lazy" player, but frankly, I think he's been one of our better forwards this year. He's put himself in a position to score, and I think I've seen him ding at least 3-4 posts that could have easily been goals with a bit of luck. In the past, I've been disappointed with how often he hasn't shown up, but this year, that's not the issue to me. Like Eller, he's also been placed in tough spots by the coaches, asked to take a lot of defensive zone starts, and not getting any PP time. To me, his 2 points are probably as good an output as you're getting from Desharnais if you adjust for ice time, PP time, linemates, zone starts, and so on. And it goes without saying that Bourque brings more to the table than Prust or Moen. I'm happy to see Sekac still in there, but I would have kept Bourque in the top 9 rather than seeing Prust there and Moen on the 4th.

Agreed, he's had his chances and that's due to the chemistry he and Lars have developed. Not to mention the effort they've put forth. It's bound to break for them eventually.

He has had a few games where he looked disinterested, for the most part, like his effort this season. He's used his size and speed to be the first on the puck, works the boards very well and as you said, has had a few posts. If everything went well for Eller and RB, they could easily be sitting with 5 points a piece. Again, as you pointed out, neither has had the luxury of the PP and ice time that DD has. They often find themselves starting in the dzone and on the PK. Although, both are good defensively and have played well on the PK.
