Evening folks!

What a 1st period, eh?

And our PP, who would've known that it needed a 40 year old Russian dman. MB apparently.

Go Habs Go!

Gonchar walked into the room & said...

"PP broken ? , no problem , I tell how to fix ... you just put puck in net "

This is unfamiliar territory for the Team; they've never led after 20. Here's to hoping they keep reading from the same recipe and run it up and don't hold back.

Philly got better as the period went on, so there's cause for concern in general. We aren't massively outplaying them, either. This is nowhere near as comfortable as it looks.

And really, if they're going to be an Elton John song, how about Nikita next season? :P

I always liked him. I'm impressed how he can still play at 40 years of age and at this level.

Very smart player. Another one I wish we would've landed in his prime. Oh, well.

He's here now and had an immediate impact. Very few players can do that.

Everyone is just in shock over the first period.

And philly came on after their PP. Bit of a momentum swing.

Habs need to keep the foot on the gas. Philly is a very good team, with so, so tending. Mason can be great, but can falter as well.

So, I went to the supermarket Friday morning, wearing my Habs toque as usual. In the coffee aisle, I saw a guy out of the corner of my eye sort of stop and then walk briskly by. I didn't think much of it until I turned to get something from that direction, and I saw his Bruins jacket. I can only imagine what he was thinking. "Even down here, I can't escape them!"

Momentum will be my concern. Philly WILL get a power play in the first half of the period, so they can't come out skating in quicksand and making lazy holds/hooks/etc, or it'll get ugly fast.
