Hammer_9001
This season has been far better then last season. Last season they were in the basement, this year we've been hovering in the playoff hunt, around 7-10 in the conference. The problem is Utica has lit the division on fire. Also the team has been giving the basement dwelling Marlies too many games, but I think we'll take a couple more from them. Right now the stallion on the team is Charles Hudon, but don't take my word for it. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=743722 "Heading into the weekend, the 20-year-old leads the entire AHL in scoring with 27 points and is fourth in assists (18). He has seven multipoint efforts in 25 games, and has three separate point streaks of three games or more already this season. Among AHL rookies, he's built a seven-point lead over the next-best scorer, Providence's David Pastrnak." From the games I've gone to, I wouldn't say he's quite NHL ready, or has peaked. I hope he stays for the season and gets the call next season.

Laval has or is building an arena. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/news/hamilton-bulldogs-renew-lease-at-copps-1.1303620 http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=657989 but more importantly http://www.thespec.com/sports-story/2231750--i-m-still-the-owner-of-the-bulldogs-today-and-we-re-going-to-stay-her/ This has been an ongoing rumor for ages. Michael Andlauer is a part owner of the Habs and he's pretty much stressed that the team is staying in Hamilton and has no intention of moving the team, to the point of suggesting that he'll try to catch on with another NHL team before moving the team if the Habs pull their affiliation. I'm to understand the Bulldogs are getting a solid deal from Global Spectrum who is running the first Ontario Centre (who also owns the Flyers as well) have stressed they want to keep him there, because he's a good tennant. I think your more likely candidate for a Laval arena is the Remparts if QC gets their team back.

I think all this talk started happening cause at one time Hamilton was in the running for an NHL team. I don't know what the tickets cost but I could see myself going and see a few games in Laval if the stadium was walking distance to one of the 3 metro stations we have up there now... otherwise keep the affiliation with Hamilton because they will lose money in Laval. Hammer_9001
Bulldogs should be staying, the only question is if they are a Habs affiliate. Walkup tickets for Hamilton right now are $20-35 a ticket, but I don't know anyone who pays the walk up price. The Bulldogs have always released much more reasonable Flex 20 packs which are $240-400 a pack and for the last 3 or 4 years they've had $100 flex 10 packs around Xmas. There has always been two problems with the Bulldogs. Being the Habs farm team in the Leafs market and playing out of an NHL sized arena. The place gets rockin' when the Marlies (Toronto) are in town as usually the lower bowl sells out, and the team does fairly well when Rochester (Buffalo), St. John's (Winnipeg) and Grand Rapids (Detroit) are in the building. Usually any Canadian affiliate does well enough too Adirondock (Calgary), Utica (Vancouver) and Oaklahoma (Edmonton). It's the benefit of being in the North division I suppose. Strangly, Binghampton (Ottawa) doesn't show up in Hamilton too often so hard to gauge that one. However, being in the Western Conference, we tend to get West division teams no one cares about, specifcally Texax (Dallas), San Antonio (Florida), Charlotte (Carolina), Milwaukee (Nashville), and Iowa (Minnesota). When they come to town, attendance typically stinks. Hamilton however has always been, consistently the middle of the pack in AHL attendance. Here's hoping the next heritage classic hits the reno'd BMO. Usually affiliates play a outdoor game before the NHL game, and given the Geography, I don't think Bulldogs vs Marlies would be an exception. Looks like an organizational failure from top to bottom.
Habberwacky
PP is about the same as the big club. This philosophy is common with most successful franchises. Hopefully they can make the playoffs this year and build on that if Fucale and a few other youngsters move up next year.

Even if this team manages to squeak into the playoffs I want Lefebvre as far away from this organization as possible.
Hammer_9001
I just saw the Bulldogs fail to score on a 2 man advantage against the Marlies who are the 28th in penalty kill in the league. I sincerely hope the Habs step in get a new special team coach or SOMETHING to resolve this abyssmal power play.
Hammer_9001
Anyways, great game tonight, Bulldogs shut out the Marlies 3-0 with two goals from Dumont and one from Carr in front of an attendance of 10,451. Thus beating Florida's low NHL attendance record!

jennifer_rocket
Who is T.J. Hensick? He seems to be doing well in Hamilton. Is he signed by Montreal, or directly be Hamilton? I guess he's a career AHL type guy.

NewfoundlandHab
The fact guys like De La Rose, Beaulieu, Tinordi, Bournival, Thomas and Gallagher have loked better in the NHL than the AHL really shows how much of a mess it is down there. Though things seem to be a bit better this year.
