The Canadiens have won four in a row against the Senators. Habs,,, 10-2-1 last 13 games. Habs last won 6 in a row on the road 33 years ago. Patches HAS 6G in 6 games

Andrei Markov had two assists for the Canadiens, who have earned points in eight of nine games and 11 of 13.Desharnais will play in his 300th game tonight. This is the second of four games against the Senators this season. The Canadiens beat Ottawa 4-1 in their first meeting on Dec. 20. Coach Michel Therrien said it was “99.9 per cent” that backup goalie Dustin Tokarski would start in Ottawa. The PP% went up last night to 15.3%.

The other guys: Bobby Ryan may not know how to spell intense, but he’s the Senators’ leading scorer with 12 goals and 30 points and he’s going to the All-Star Game next week. Defenceman Erik Karlsson is right behind Ryan with seven goals and 29 points, but the concept of defence is lost on Karlsson and he’s minus-18. Mike Hoffman, who was Nathan Beaulieu’s teammate with the junior Saint John Sea Dogs, is having a breakthrough season with 15 goals. The Senators’ goaltending should be decent with Craig Anderson and Robin Lehner, but they don’t get a lot of help from the defence and Ottawa ranks 21st in goals allowed at 2.71.

The Senators players may be a little happier playing for new coach Dave Cameron, but they’re not more productive than they were under Paul MacLean. When MacLean was fired on Dec. 8, the Senators had an 11-11-5 record. In a little more than a month of Cameron’s tutelage, they are 6-6-3.

Injury update: The Canadiens are as close as you can get to being 100-per-cent healthy with P.A. Parenteau returning to the lineup in Columbus after missing three games with a concussion. Ottawa tough-guy Chris Neil has been on the inured-reserve list for more than a month with a lower-body injury. Also missing for the Senators are forward Zack Smith (upper body) and defenceman Mark Borowiecki (leg).

Referees are Dan O'Rourke(9), Francis Charron(6)

Prust - DD - PAP

Bournival - Malholtra - Weise

or:

Since our playoff series a few years ago, the Senators have moved up my list of most hated teams, although some of their more hated players are out right now. Bobby Ryan, although a good player, is a tool... I still remember him chasing after and pushing the ref as he whined about our miraculous comeback victory last year! This is the type of game where it may not matter as much as some others to the standings, but where you'd still really like to hammer the opposition just to shut them up.

That and the putrid, ridiculous luck the Senators always have against us, no matter how bad their team is.
