kinot-1
TONIGHT THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS Apologies, as this is all I could find from their website. VISIT OUR HABS 7:00 PM SN, TVA, MSG, CI, TSN Radio 690, (note the change from HNIC to SN.) STUFF AND FLUFF TOKARSKI IS CONFIRMED, WITH JOEY MACDONALD RECALLED FROM HAMILTON. THIS COULD BE THE BATTLE OF THE BACK-UPS, AS HALAK PLAYED LAST NIGHT. Season series: Carey Price made 37 saves for the Montreal Canadiens in a 3-1 win against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum on Dec. 23, in the final game before the Christmas break. Andrei Markov, Brendan Gallagher andDavid Desharnais scored for Montreal after Kyle Okposo gave New York an early lead. Islanders team scope: Okposo had one goal in nine games since scoring against Montreal until he had a career-high four goals Friday to help the Islanders rally for a 6-3 home victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Okposo's linemates,John Tavares and Josh Bailey, each had three assists, giving the top line a 10-point night. The Islanders trailed 2-0 and 3-2 before scoring four times in the third period. "We've had that [never-say-die] mentality all year," Okposo said. "We've given up the first goal a little more than we would have liked, but I thought we responded well, especially in the third period." Jaroslav Halak made 21 saves in his 24th victory, and coach Jack Capuano said he would decide Saturday whether to play Halak, a former Canadiens player, or backup Chad Johnson. Canadiens team scope: Montreal, which didn't skate Friday, is 1-2-1 in its past four games, including a 4-1 road loss to the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. Backup goaltender Dustin Tokarski played against Ottawa after Price sustained an upper-body injury in a collision during a 3-2 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday. Price is day-to-day, and the Canadiens recalled former Islanders goalie Joey MacDonald from Hamilton of the American Hockey League as the likely backup to Tokarski. Forward Max Pacioretty has a goal in each of his past six games. The Canadiens have won four of five against the Islanders and are 8-1-4 in the last 13 meetings at the Bell Centre. LAST NIGHT THE ISLES CAME BACK FROM BEING DOWN 3-2 TO PITTS AND WON 6-3. IT WAS A HARD-HITTING AFFAIR WITH PITTS HAVING 47 HITS TO THE ISLES 44. OKPOSOS HAD 4G, WHILE TAVARES HAD 3A. HALAK PLAYED AND IT'S UNKNOWN ATT, IF HE WILL PLAY TONIGHT. PAP did not practice and will not play tonight. kinot-1's GDT Record 9-7-2 I don't like these losses

Not to defend Therrien, who's awful but I posted this in the lines thread a bit ago, Renaud Lavoie @renlavoietva · 6m 6 minutes ago Alex Galchenyuk met with Michel Therrien this morning. Galchenyuk told Michel he's more confortable as a winger. So that's where he'll play. Too bad.

I've had Pleky pegged for a long time s an olympian playing for the Habs, but this is the time and place to bring him out to my mind. Put Prust at right where he wants to be and Galchenyuk where he wants to be and hopefully Eller will concentrate with Weaver back where he is and Emelin perform better too and it does make Sekac work harder but I suppose he's worth the effort don't ya think though its a lot of time for Weise....Well tough. lol Just a thought. I have NO idea how this will turn out in reality.

BigTed3
The thing is, we have enough talent that on any given night, any line combination might be able to carry us to a win. But when you look at your odds of long-term success, these lines aren't going to give us our best chance at that. Just when we thought we had moved away from DD at center, we've lost it. With he and Galchenyuk on the same line, it isn't about pairing players together for chemistry; it means Therrien really believes the club is better off with DD at center and Galchenyuk on the wing. jennifer_rocket
Does the cat have his/her jersey on? . Nah. I used to have a small dog-sized neckerchief for him with the Habs logo on it, but it was too small for him (he's a pretty husky cat).
