jennifer_rocket
You also have to eliminate crap players taking runs at defensless players. I'm hoping that the NHL suspends him. I also wouldn't be opposed to someone taking a run at Clutterbuck on the ice, but I would prefer to wait for a more comfortable moment in the game than with half a period to go. roy_133
NOW is where Prust should fight Clutterbuck. Not the staged thing against Martin. Prust's line was even on the ice and nothing... if the point of having enforcers is only staged fights and not when they're actually needed, then what's the point? In Prust's defence, he's not just an enforcer, but this incident reinforces the point that having a Parros on this team does nothing to help. In Prust's defense, the puck was no where near there so how easy is it to see in real time? Bournival's reaction at first seemed really bad so I figured something would happen just because when a guy is unconscious on the ice there's normally something. I've been in and out of the game but Islanders fans seem convinced Bournival elbowed someone in the head and it was retaliation? Is that true? Doesn't seem like Bournival, either way it's garbage but was there a prior incident? If anything it would add to the intent by Clutterbuck

FirstStar
I understand the rules, what I said is that on the replay I saw I couldn't tell if he ever hit his head. I'll take your word for it because CBC didn't show a great angle, I rewound 3x but still couldn't firmly see very well. Edit: Either way it's a blindside hit that should have been penalized but headshot takes it to the next level. On the replay it isn't clear, but there was contact with the head. Bourny almost looked KO'd or stunned for a few seconds and could clearly be seen holding his chin/left jaw. So contact with the head was made. Very least an interference call. And DD gets a goal. Beaulieu got a 2 minute "elbowing" penalty earlier, but it was far from egregious.

If anything it would add to the intent by Clutterbuck Didn't see or hear anything about a Bournival elbow, but I agree, if there was motivation, that makes it even worse. Clutterbuck clearly looked like he wanted to take a run at Bournival while he wasn't looking. You can argue that the Suter elbow was as he was trying to make a hockey play and that it went wrong. It's still a bad hit, but you can't know for sure what happened. In Clutterbuck's case, this is nothing close to a hockey play, it's not even a late hit on a guy who has just gotten rid of the puck, it's simply away from the play altogether.
