Guest
My thinking is that the Oilers would want a Beaulieu +, going the other way for Yak. Not sure i would consider that. Tinordi on the other hand.....

Tinordi on the other hand..... The problem is, Edmonton seems to "want" things that dont make sense for their "needs." They would be way better off trading 1 high end asset (Yakupov) for like 3 or 4 medium level depth assets. They have some remarkable talent but after their top 5 or 6 guys the drop off is ridiculous. Bring in some quality 2nd line players and or top 4dmen and this team would be a LOT better.

That's why i think they would want a guy like Beaulieu coming back,,,somebody who projects to be in their top 4. If i'm MB, i try to offer Tinordi in his place, and maybe sweeten the add on asset. Not sure it would get the deal done though. Yak's play has improved since the coaching change and they just may hold on to him at this point. RicochetII
Yeah, woudl love that line. But, if you're putting those guys out together I worry about the line with DD at the helm. Plekanec's line would be strong defensively but im assumign you'd want to give the aforementioned line lots of offensive zone minutes so that means what, DD has to play a 2 way game? I would balance it out a little more. With a young line that needs to grow together, I would have them out in all situations. In close games, Galchenyuk's would get less DZ starts, simply because Desharnais is better on the draws currently. There might be some growing pains, but you have to go through those in order to develop. Once they get their legs underneath them and we've minimized their deficiencies, they should be able to more than compensate for any remaining liabilities with offensive pressure. RicochetII
Eller + Tinordi + ie:Thomas Eller + Emelin + ie:Andrighetto I don't want to trade Tinordi, so they get a "lesser" prospect. I don't mind trading Emelin, so they can take a "better" prospect. If they want Eller, Tinordi, and ie:Andrighetto, I want something back, perhaps a playoff rental or RW depth prospect. --- On an additional note, Hamilton has 1 too many "veteran" players on their roster. It would be helpful to them if we could move one of those players out, so I might want to sell one of those players in any package deal coming up. RicochetII
Ugggghhhhh, who do we want from Toronto!? Winnik, Santorelli, Kadri, Franson, and "maybe" Komarov. Not really interested in giving a prospect for a rental, but re-signing from those players shouldn't be overly difficult. I'd be perfectly happy keeping Bournival, though a 2 for 2 with Thomas could work for us. Winnik/Santorelli and Franson perhaps.

habs_93
Wasn't Kadri a Habs fan growing up? He was. Although they say they've changed their loyalties since ( http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2010/11/19/leafs_dads_hit_the_road_with_team.html ). Kadri's got a ton of potential; it could be another Grabovski situation. Naturally assuming we got the better end of the deal, I'd definitely be interested. NewfoundlandHab
Franson for a playoff run. Tyler Bozak if they are silly enough to trade him. WHYwould we ever want Bozak? We have 4 centers on this team that are better than him if we include Galchenyuk. Bozak has never cracked 50 points and he's played with a point-per-game winger for the last 3+ years. Seems like a foolish move to me. I imagine MB is kicking the tires on Franson again. He'd also probably be interested in Winnik/Santorelli for depth. I'd love to have Kessel, but that doesn;t seem realistic. Also, Sean Bergenheim has asked for a trade from Florida. I don't think we will be overly interested, but figured I;d bring it up anyway. If Bozak moves he will help any team he goes to. Toronto has some talent that is not being used properly.

If Bozak moves he will help any team he goes to. Toronto has some talent that is not being used properly. Bozak is just bad. Most Leafs fans want him gone. Never his 50 points, not good defensively. What exactly are these troubles that Kessel brought to the Leafs? Too many goals? People say that you can't win with Kessel. The Leafs couldnt win with him because they didnt surround him with the right players. Here, he would have a supporting cast of Patches, Plekanec, Galchenyuk, Eller, Gallagher. That would be an amazing forward corpse. For people to say that they dont want Kessel on their team is amazing. He's a top offensive player in the league and we cant score goals. Seems like a no brainer to me. But again, doesn't seem realistic and I dont think we can afford an 8mil contract.
habs_93
Bozak is Toronto's Desharnais: an unremarkable at best player who is given endless undeserved opportunity over better players due to management fiat/a relationship with high-end winger. No thanks.
