Roberto Luongo made 33 saves but was scored on by PA Parenteau in the shootout.Panthers team scope: Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov will serve the second of his four-game suspension; Shane O'Brien has filled in on the blue line. Defenseman Willie Mitchell, who has missed the past seven games with an upper-body injury, is day-to-day and close to returning, coach Gerard Gallant said. Florida defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Tuesday and trail the Boston Bruins for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. "We know what the standings are all about, but we're trying not to look at it too much," Luongo said. "We're just focusing on our job. There's a lot of road ahead of us and we don't want to think about the big picture now. We just want to keep getting better as a team."Leading Scorer: Nick Bjugstad (21-15-36)Ice Time Leader: Brian Campbell (23:40)Canadiens team scope: Defenseman Jarred Tinordi will play, according to TSN, after he was recalled Wednesday from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Defenseman Alexi Emelin crashed into the boards in the first period of a 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators and did not return because of an upper-body injury. The Canadiens could be down two defensemen because P.K. Subban blocked a shot during the second period that hobbled him, although he remained in the game and played 30:45. Goalie Carey Price did not play and is expected back in. Montreal's past five losses (0-4-1) have come against teams not in a playoff position: twice to the Senators, and to the Edmonton Oilers (shootout), Arizona Coyotes and Buffalo Sabres.Leading Scorer: Max Pacioretty (27-22-49)Ice Time Leader: P.K. Guest
Thanks for the GDT, 93, ,,let's hope yours works out better than mine did. Which "hungry team" are you talking about, htl? We're obviously not hungry enough. We only play hungry when there's a decent team against us it seems.

BigTed3
MT : "Tinner with Pateryn Pk looked ok this morning",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, or something like that. Yup. So Subban is a game-time decision but appears as though he will play: Markov-Subban Beaulieu-Gilbert Tinordi-Pateryn appears to be what we're going with... that third pairing is going to be heavily sheltered. vegasrick
I'm just glad Boston lost, but the stupid Prunes got the loser point last night. And tonight, we're playing the team that's on their heels. Since Florida is a non-playoff team, and they're starting a goalie whose record is abysmal, the Habs will likely do what they seem to always do against teams of this ilk: transform into an AHL practice squad. Maybe they should just concede this one and avoid further injuries. After all, it would put the Panthers just one measly point behind the Beantown Apes. Since that won't happen, I guess we might as well watch the continued self-destruction of the Montreal Canadiens -- the first-place team that's poised to embarrass itself once again this playoff season.....or even sooner. vegasrick
this just in: Alex Galchenyuk is OUT tonight with the flu, per TSN. Habs are cooked.....although they were probably going to lose anyway. Chris Lee is working tonight. However,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Habs are 3-0 when he refs. So, you're saying the two-referee system actually works sometimes.

Frankly, that group of 6 looks a world better than any lineup we had last year and better than some we've had this year too. Im almost in shock that MT has played Beau, Tinordi AND Pateryn in the same game. Is it possible weaver is dressing as the #12 forward??
