NewfoundlandHab
Im totally open to the idea of trading Markov. I just think that Beaulieu-Emelin down the left side leaves us pretty weak. If we were to keep Markov, im saying that we trade Emelin (if possible). If we do that then there's still "20 solid minutes a game" available for Beaulieu. Sure, Emelin is slightly less expensive, but I dont think the drop off in talent (imo) from Markov to Emelin is worth saving 1.65mil on the cap. If Markov is a part of a package to get us a #1C/RW then im down for it. If we're just trading someone as a salary dump, I still think it should be Emelin

Like you, im totally open to moving Markov if the return is right. As for the weakened left side, if we move Markov we have Beaulieu, Emelin, Tinordi and Gilbert (who looked just fine on the left side as long as he was paired with a guy like Pateryn or Petry). I think we're ok without Markov although I would still prefer to move Emelin if possible. Since this is the Jeff Petry thread, I would like to reiterate just how happy I am with our Right side. It was only a couple of years ago when we had PK and.... well not a whole lot else. Weaver was arguably our 2nd best RD for a while there. Wow. Good job MB, now fix our scoring woes!
