From EOTP:

The first thing that pops up when you research the numbers, are the awards that generally come along with putting up these types of seasons. The Vézina Trophy should be a given, seeing as how all four seasons posted above resulted in the trophy making its way home with either Thomas or Hasek.
As it stands, Price also has the inside track when it comes to the William M. Jennings Trophy, awarded to the goaltender that allows the fewest goals against for his team during the regular season. The Rangers are a threat, having allowed only 161 goals against compared to Montreal's 159, however the Rangers have played three fewer games than the Canadiens. As for the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award, the voters should have a hard time putting him in any other position than first. That being said, there are no guarantees that Price will take home four individual awards this season, but the fact remains that he should be in the mix when it comes to the league's top honours.

Defenceman Andrei Markov is #Habs nominee for Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

A great choice. We don't have a return-from-big-injury story this year, but Markov has played really well this season after a couple of shakier seasons next to Emelin. He's as close to peak-form Markov as we've seen since his string of injuries.

The Norris Trophy winner this year is going to be very interesting/difficult to predict.

Early on it seemed like Giordano had it all but locked up, but the injury means he's basically out (I could see him finishing top 6-10 in voting still).

Then the Weber noise started to gain steam but now that his partner (Josi) has actually surpassed him in points, I see a lot of people cooling on him.

Karlsson is, and will probably continue to, lead the league in defensman scoring but his 'type' of minutes have come into conversation as well as the fact that Ottawa may miss the playoffs (its rare for a player to win an individual award when his team misses the post season).

In a strictly point per game capacity, Letang leads but another injury means he's done for the regular season at least and, rightly or wrongly, people always footnote his scoring because of assists on points by Crosby and Malkin

There seems to be a quiet rumbling for Drew Doughty to win his second Norris, especially when you look at the ridiculous amount of time he plays (almost 30 minutes a game!!) in every situation.

Our very own superstar PK Subban certainly seems to be on the radar & indeed, he's put together a better season than he did when he won his first Norris.

And Ive even heard rubblings about guys like Burns, Josi, Byfuglien, Keith etc.

What will make this race very interesting is the weighted scale. Each of the 150ish voters will get 5 votes (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc). They are weighed heavily: fifth place = 1 point, fourth = 3points, third = 5points, second = 7 points and first= 10 points. So a guy with a ton of 2nd place votes could conceivably beat someone with a range of other votes.

I dont think this is going to be one of those first place gets 1000+points and everyone else gets 500 or so years. I bet you'll see 5 or 6 guys getting 500 - 700 points each and the winner may only do so by a handful of points.

Will be very interesting to watch. I hope that PK is at least one of the 3 finalists.

Forwards Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings, Jiri Hudler of the Calgary Flames and Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings are the three finalists for the 2014-15 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability," the National Hockey League announced today.

The finalists for the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL’s top defensive forward are the same three NHL star centers: Boston’s Patrice Bergeron, Chicago’s Jonathan Toews and L.A.’s Anze Kopitar.

The Byng is voted by writers, correct? Does it go to Hudler as they Flames seem to be one of the "feel good" stories of this season--at least one of its surprises??

It's voted on by the PHWA. We have to wait until the awards to find out who wins it.

Defenseman Aaron Ekblad of the Florida Panthers and forwards Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames and Mark Stone of the Ottawa Senators are the three finalists for the 2014-15 Calder Memorial Trophy, awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition," the National Hockey League announced today.

Personally, I think Forsberg was more impressive than any of these three guys. I think too much is made of Gaudreau being small and exciting and while Ekblad has been good, I don't think he's been that outstanding either. Both guys are good, but I think both are overrated by the media. For my money, I'd have Forsberg one and Stone two...

Subban's nod is well-deserved. I think it should be a race between him and Karlsson, but you never know with the voters.

From Sportsnet:

"Subban played more minutes than anyone else on the stingiest Canadiens defensive team since 1988-89. The 25-year-old with the scary shot not only threw down personal bests in goals (15), assists (45), points (60), plus/minus, +21, game winners (five) and shooting percentage (8.8%), he also led all blueliners in the key possession metric SAT Rel% (shot attempts for player relative to shot attempts for team when player is not on the ice) at 6.0%.

Subban regularly defends the opponents’ top line, is a greater defensive force than Karlsson and a greater offensive threat than Doughty. There’s a reason he is both the most loved and hated guy on this list."

Also,, Karlsson does not play the PK very much.

I have watched Johnie hockey a lot this year and the stability and play making ability he brings to this team should give him this award. He did not have the same supporting cast as Forsberg and played exceptionally well. If not him Ekblad and Stone would be a close second with Stone getting my next vote. As for Subban, he has matured and probably desrves this a little more than Doughty who was part o a Stanley Cup champion squad that plays a very tight system.

I dint know that:

"Carey's stellar work earned him his first career William M. Jennings Trophy, sharing the honour with Corey Crawford of the Chicago Blackhawks. The award is given to the goaltender(s) who played at least 25 games for the club(s) while allowing the fewest number of goals. Both Montreal and Chicago gave up 189 goals during the regular season. It’s the first time since the 2002-03 campaign that goaltenders on two separate teams claimed the award."

So, Carey shares the Jennings,, should win the Vezina, and might win the Hart. :D:D:D

On edit,,,, naw,,, I will only jinx it.
