(They must have a lot of thunderstorms down there B) )

Stuff gathered from the net.

The two previous games this year Tampa has throttled Montreal outscoring them 11-3.

Where’s the offence? The Canadiens don’t need a lot of scoring as long as Carey Price is leading the NHL in goals-against average (1.89), save percentage (.936) and wins (37), but some help would be appreciated. The Canadiens managed only six goals in four games out west and one of those was an empty-netter in the 2-0 win in Arizona. The Canadiens rank 22nd in goals per game at 2.59 and the power play ranks 25th. Max Pacioretty leads the offence with 31 goals and 57 points and is a league-leading plus-37. Alex Galchenyuk, Brendan Gallagher, P.K. Subban and Dale Weise are all having career seasons, but there has been no secondary scoring.

Aside from their 0-2-0 record against the Lightning, the Canadiens are a combined 14-2-1 against the six other teams that are in position to make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Here’s how the lines and defence pairings looked at practice Monday in Brossard:
Galchenyuk – Plekanec – Gallagher
Eller – De La Rose – Smith-Pelly
Pacioretty – Desharnais – Weise
Prust –Mitchell – Flynn
Parenteau – Malhotra
Subban – Markov
Gilbert – Petry
Beaulieu – Gonchar
Weaver – Emelin
Bishop ain't that good. He has a GAA of 2.39, and a SV% of .913.
Despite Stamkos' 61 PTs. he is 3rd worst 5 on 5, for players with over 55 GP on his team. He is an even +/-. He loses more FOs than he wins.
TB has allowed more goals than either Carolina or Ottawa at 177 GA.
Regardless of our poor showing out west, we're still in first in the east. :)
kinot-1's GDT Record 17-8-3

A little secondary scoring and a PP would solve all our problems as far as being near the bottom of the League in goals. I know we have a god in goal, but a little insurance would be nice once in awhile.

Considering what else we have going for us, I think that if we somehow got those 2 things going, we'd be one of the real contenders.

Fun facts:
TB is only 1 game above .500 on the road.
Stamkos has the 3rd worst +/- among players for TB with over 55 GP. Even
TB has the 10th worst GA in the east.
TB has scored more goals than any other team in the league.
Bishop is not listed in the top 10 for GAA, SV%, or Shutouts. He is 5 wins behind Price.
TB has had 233 PPO, as opposed to 207 times shorthanded. Benefit of 26 times. Most in the league.
Habs have been shorthanded 204 times while having 189 PPO. Deficit of 15 times.

BTW,,,, those 233 PPO, that TB has,, is tops in the league. TB has a benefit of 26 PPO, Habs have a deficit of 15 PPO,,,,, to me that means that TB has had 41 more PPOs than the Habs.

Go figure?

Given all that data I see where shutouts make things so much easier. We haven't lost when shutting out the opposition this year. Are you listening Carey? Looking forward to seeing the new guys take part in this series. Lets see how they do against Tampa.

TY Captain O. ;)
