The Habs fared poorly against TB in the regular season but kept the games close late in the season. They had a better time against Detroit during the year, but some say the Wings are the hotter and better-coached team, whereas Tampa may be unraveling a bit. So which would you rather face in the next round?

Bishop plays like a god vs us. He's had our number and been in our heads since he entered the League. That plus Stamkos is way overdue to breakout. I'd take my chances with the Wings and their rookie tender.

I picked Detroit, for these reasons:

Bishop scares me. Stamkos is due for a breakout. Cooper is a very smart coach.

Detroit,,,,Babcock "could" outcoach MT. Mrazrek isn't as good as Carey. Their players, aren't, IMO, as good as ours.

So,,, I'll take the Wings.

I'm also picking Detroit. I'll take the rookie goalie any day. I'm actually not too worried about Stamkos, but we always struggle against Bishop (similar style to Anderson) and Tampa's a rougher team to boot. I'm curious though whether anyone would choose Tampa...

Detroit is the absolute no-brainer answer. Simply because it's the only fighting chance the Habs have of progressing to the next round.

For some strange reason, Detroit is one of few teams where the Therrible system is less likely to get exposed and punished brutally. The Habs can even eke out unlikely wins.

The alternative is swift, brutal elimination in 4; Carey or no Carey. There is no nicer way to put it. The point of Price > Bishop is moot because Bishop would hardly be tested. The Tampa D will neutralize any Habs entry into their blue zone while their offensive juggernaut have a field day bombarding Carey Price. Don't believe me? Just MMW if the draw is made.

I picked Detroit as well, although honestly I don't actually think that there's a huge difference one way or the other. It sounds simplistic to say, but the only thing that really swayed my vote was our record this season against each team. Say the worst-case scenario happens and we get blown out in game 1. Against Detroit it's bad but it's not a huge issue - it's just one game. Against Tampa, though, you'd have to think that the team could be rattled by something like that based on having lost every game this year.

Bishop isn't by any means unbeatable - just about every other team in the league has shown us that. But if Tampa does well enough against us at the beginning then Montreal might just start thinking of him that way, and that's never a good thing.
