jennifer_rocket
Finally, first line centre back with Pacioretty! My fingers are crossed that this last's longer than one period. I'm nervous that one mistake from that line and we'll see everybody tossed in a blender for period two, with the resulting combinations consisting of Galchenyuk centering Byron and Thomas and Pacioretty back with Desharnais. jennifer_rocket
Really, really poor on Boston's 3rd goal. He needs to be much stronger on the puck below our goal line.

fnveenie
He was kind of thrown to the wolves last night. MT didn't seem interested on getting the Pleks line out against Bergeron. That's kind of something you try to do with home ice advantage.

jennifer_rocket
Well. I missed the Detroit game, but I see he missed the scoresheet. How was his performance overall?
BigTed3
Well. I missed the Detroit game, but I see he missed the scoresheet. How was his performance overall? He and Pacioretty were pretty much invisible the entire night. Galchenyuk has definitely played better with Eller than he has with any other player in his tenure here in Montreal. I'd love to see EGG but in Gallagher's absence, the best we can hope for might be EGGhetto.
jedimaas
EGGhetto. Scramble me up some of that And i agree - while i like the idea of Patches -Galchenyuk, there are many more pluses to having Patches - Plekanec and Eller -Galchenyuk - not the least of which is you end up with our 2 best defensive top 6 forwards on different lines. jennifer_rocket
I was a huge fan of what the P-P-G (Patches, Pleky, Gally) line was accomplishing. I would prefer to keep E-G-Ghetto together, even when Gallagher returns. Unless Bergevin makes a trade for a top-six RW.
ramcharger440
he does not seem to mesh with patches at all or perhaps it is the other way around?
Habberwacky
I think Galchenyuk stuggles at centre due to his inexperience. I think he can play well against some teams but Bergeron exploited him in the Boston game and his defensive zone coverage has been very inconsistent. It is a big learning curve when facing some very experienced opposition centres. If this continues
PuckPundit
he does not seem to mesh with patches at all or perhaps it is the other way around? You forgot the hot streak they were on when paired together for a short while last season. Pacioretty was setting up goals for Galchenyuk.
fnveenie
The only guys with less ice time last night were Flynn, Mitchell and McCarron, in a game where we trailed for over 50 straight minutes. He had 7 shots on goal and was all over the ice; clearly our most dangerous player for the entire night. What does this guy have to do to get some ice time? It's absurd. Woodenhhead
Well, he only gets 3rd line minutes so there's no way I'd give him 1st/2nd line minutes. You have to get more ice time before you can earn yourself more ice time. Look at someone like Desharnais: he gets top line minutes no matter which line he is on, so he therefore earns top line minutes. That's how you get top line minutes. You'll never get top line minutes if you're only getting bottom line minutes. This isn't rocket appliances, geez.

Galchenyuk needs to get more work experience before we can give him this job. Maybe he should consider taking an unpaid internship where he will receive 2nd line minutes, then we can reconsider giving him 2nd line minutes on our team. Guest habs1952
Maybe he should be put out of his misery and traded to another team so he can get the minutes he deserves and we can watch him blossom into a #1 center because it ain't gonna happen here as long as MT and DD continue their bromance. caperns
17 Alex Galchenyuk 36 8 15 23 14:40 20.3 52.218 David Desharnais 36 7 11 18 15:48 22.1 49.1 Alex has 5 more points than Desharnais, plays over 1 minute less per game, plays at lest 2 shifts less per game has a better faceoff percentage???? I am confused.. He has 30 minutes less power play time then patches and has the same amount of points Yet we need scoring?

Nobody claimed Kassian either, but I think he still has the ability to be an NHL caliber player. I think 29 of 30 teams passed on Mike Ribeiro the last time he was available and he's playing really well in Nashville. The Habs dumped PAP after the Avs dumped PAP and he ended up having to go to Toronto, where he's put up 17 points in 33 games. Some guys are just given a bad reputation by the media and by the team they were last on - I see Semin as being one of those guys. I just don't think he's as bad as Michel Therrien made him out to be, but that definitely scared other teams off.
