He has played well positionally and can create turnovers. I like how he plays the game and he has looked good playing with a couple of lines now.

He definitely has some potential. Will be interesting to see if there's a spot for him when people come back from injuries.

He has seemed to be a fairly "meat and potatoes" type of player so far. Works and plays well enough to be a complimentary winger. We haven't really seen if he can do anything in a top 6 role, and he hasn't had enough time to make the inevitable "rookie" mistakes.

For those reasons, I currently only see him as a bottom 6 option. His best chance would be to bump Flynn, Byron, or DSP, and that probably isn't going to happen this season.

For a top 6 role, we'd first have to see him given the opportunity to see if he can produce consistently, but I would say Andrighetto and Hudon are ahead of him in line for that spot/opportunity right now.

There's no rush to make him stick, and a full season in the AHL with a good camp could see him replacing anyone from Fleischmann to Byron next season, depending on who stays and who goes. Once on the roster, he'd end up with chances to move up and down the lineup to see where he could fit into a permanent spot. I'm not confident he wouldn't spend most of the season on the bench as the 13th forward if we opened up a spot in the bottom 6 through trade, so I would rather see him get the ice time. It would be a mistake to have him fight for ice time with Hudon or Andrighetto, as they all need playing time to develop right now.

That kind of makes him look like Weise with better hands. Right places, right times, doesn't dotoo much with the puck.

If that's the case, Therrien will love him and he will get opportunities that haven't been afforded to others.

prophetic. as it was written, now it is
