Indeed. and they've both looked good. I wonder what happens when price gets back. Do we trade someone or expose one to waivers?

Condon is younger and he's signed past this season. Unless Scrivens really outplays him, I don't see an advantage to opting for Scrivens first. You protect the asset (Condon) who might help you the most going forward. I think it's less likely Scrivens gets claimed being sent down as well, given his higher salary.

It will be an interesting choice. As we near the playoffs the man with moe experience may be the one they keep up. Either way we appear pretty stable in net. tHis will ensure there is room for Fucale. w appear to do a good job at identifying strong goaltenders. Condon ran a little cold for a while nad hopefully getss a chance to heat up again before Price gets back.

As good as Condon was last night,,,both of those goals scored against us were not great ones to give up. He gambled and lost on the first one, and on the second one he looked out of position.

He did make a few highlight saves though.

He just seems out of place altogether lately.

Could be nerves, could be just tired. He's not expecting to have this workload and that can put a huge drain on your mental ability after a while. I know he's paid to play whenever needed; but once your expectations are drop kicked past what is thought to be reasonable, it takes a toll.

He's almost at the number of games Price played in his first season (Price 41.. 51 including bulldogs/Condon 31 to date)

Price 2007/2008 - GAA 2.56 SV .920 2008/2009 - 52GP GAA 2.83 SV .905

Condon Now - GAA 2.42 SV .907

Not to mention he is surely aware by now that he essentially needs to be perfect (or at least as good as Carey) every game for the team to even have a shot at winning.

I imagine that, apart from the workload itself, is also pretty mentally taxing and likely contributes to him "looking out of place".

Anxiety level over 9000.

He's doing fine for a kid that was never drafted and has to fill in for arguably the best goaltender in the world.

He's getting no support , offensively or defensively

3rd star of the week. :)

THIRD STAR - MIKE CONDON, G, MONTREAL CANADIENS

Condon posted a 2-0-1 record with a 1.63 goals-against average and .949 save percentage as the Canadiens (30-27-5, 65 points) gained five of a possible six standings points. On Feb. 24 he stopped 33 shots to earn a 4-3 road victory over the League-leading Washington Capitals. Condon finished the week with a 31 save performance in a 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Feb. 27.
