Here's the kerfuffle at the end of the Cats/Nucks game last night. NO PENALTIES!!! WTH is going on?

Can't see why there would be penalties or suspensions. This is the NHL's bread and butter. It doesn't happen often but it sure builds up the drama for the next Canucks/Panthers game.

So....if a player throws a dirty check on an opponent and either paralyzes or kills him would the suspension only be two or three games? Would it matter if the player throwing the check did or didn't have a record?

NHL.com. New Jersey's Bobby Farnham will have a hearing for a hit against St. Louis' Dmitri Joskin. The incident occurred at 11:50 of the third period and Farnham was assessed a major penalty for interference.

Here's the hit.
