kinot-1
After losing against Ott last night in the rookie tournament, SL had this to say about Fucale: “I didn’t know Zach coming in because he is a first-year pro, but he made some big saves to keep us in the game,” Let's see if I have this straight. The Dogs missed the POs again last year, for the 3rd year in a row under his watch. So that means that SL had lots of time to scout out Fucale. Fucale played 20 PO games with the Remparts last season. Fucale was still playing while SL was on vacation. It's not that far for SL, to go to Quebec City to have a look at him and get to know him. After all, he will be your #1 goalie come next year. Jeremy Gregoire also played in the POs with Baie-Comeau (21 PTs. in 12 GP). He will be with the Icecaps this year. I doubt if SL went to see him as well. Bolds are mine.

HabsRuleForever
St. John’s, NL – In just his second pro start, rookie netminder Zach Fucale made 40 big stops to propel the IceCaps to a 3-2 win over the Binghamton Senators Wednesday at Mile One Centre. Fucale faced double-digit shots in all three periods but was up to the task, picking up his second win in as many starts in his young pro career. Mac Bennett’s first period tally stood up as the game-winner while Daniel Carr and Darren Dietz also notched goals. Sven Andrighetto had a pair of assists, and Bud Holloway and Christian Thomas both extended their point streaks to four games. The IceCaps led 3-0 after 20 minutes but the Senators clawed back in the second on goals from Eric O’Dell and Max McCormick. Despite being outshot 12-5 in the final frame, St. John’s held on for the win and the series split as Fucale was flawless down the stretch. The IceCaps have now recorded a point in all four home games to start the season (3-0-1-0). The IceCaps begin a two-game series with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday (7:30 PM) before wrapping up their six-game home stand with a Sunday afternoon tilt (4:00)

They started of February with a 5-2 loss to Utica. De la Rose and Holloway had the goals for St. John's in the losing effort.
