BigTed3
Time for the start of a new season. Post your predictions on where you see the season going... regular season or playoffs or both. Who wins the Cup? Where will the Habs finish up this time around?
BigTed3
This is my best guess as to what we'll see, although we all know things can change drastically with injuries/trades/surprises... 1. Tampa 2. Montreal 3. Ottawa 4. Boston 5. Detroit 6. Toronto 7. Buffalo 8. Florida 1. Washington 2. Pittsburgh 3. NY Islanders 4. NY Rangers 5. Columbus 6. Philadelphia 7. Carolina 8. NJ 1. Minnesota 2. Chicago 3. St. Louis 4. Winnipeg 5. Nashville 6. Dallas 7. Colorado 1. Anaheim 2. LA 3. San Jose 4. Edmonton 5. Calgary 6. Vancouver 7. Arizona Playoffs: Tampa over Columbus Montreal over Ottawa NYR over Washington NYI over Pittsburhg Minnesota over Winnipeg Chicago over St. Louis Anaheim over Nashville LA over San Jose *** Montreal over Tampa NYI over NYR Minnesota over Chicago LA over Anaheim *** Montreal over NYI Minnesota over LA *** Montreal over Minnesota Haven't predicted a Montreal Cup win in many many years to my recollection... so going out on a bit of a limb here, but I really like our roster and our chances on Carey's back if he stays healthy. Obviously will need some luck along the way, but I think we're a team with a top 5 chance at a Cup. Why? The Central division is loaded, but they'll knock each other out by attrition. Chicago has taken some hits with its roster, as has St. Louis. I can see any of the top 6 teams in that division making a deep run into the playoffs, but hopefully they wear each other out during the season. In the Pacific, LA and Anaheim are likely the class of the division. I don't see any of the other teams being Cup-worthy, and Anaheim has frankly struggled in the clutch the past few years in the playoffs. The Metro division has some good teams as well, but no stand-outs IMO in terms of teams we can't beat. I actually see our division as having good depth and a number of teams who could surprise but really no other top-end team outside of Tampa. IF we can get out of our own division and rub Tampa out of the way, I think we have a pretty decent shot at Lord Stanley.

RicochetII
I'm going to go with a homer prediction as well, just for fun. Though I'm unsure whether I'm an optimist or a sadist at this point. Bow2kingsalsa
I like the prediction Ricochetil but if history is any indicator, the only way the habs win a cup is if Therrien is fired. That's how Pittsburge won it. MT wasn't good enough to take the talented Penguins all the way and it took a minor league coach to win it all. Guest Regis2
lol I think we would all love to see the Habs win the Cup . They are saying the last time the Blue Jays won it all was 1993 , maybe Montreal can do the same . But like the previous poster , sorry not with this guy coaching .
