kinot-1
IT'S WELL, HERE IT IS, THE DAY WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. Canadiens @ Maple Leafs 7:00 PM TVAS, SN, 690 TSN Radio PUCK DROP, ANYTIME AFTER 7:00 PM. THE LAFFS HAD MADE A LOT OF CHANGES IN THE FRONT OFFICE AND A FEW PLAYERS CHANGES. MEANWHILE, THE HABS HAVE UPGRADED THEIR OFFENCE, AND MADE MINOR CHANGES TO THEIR COACHING STAFF. The laffs are a team of cast-offs and mis-fits. -Matt Hunwick, a frequent healthy scratch in New York, is on the top pair with Dion Phaneuf. -Brad Boyes, who is turning into the very definition of journeyman, is a top-six forward. Ditto P.A. Parenteau. -Michael Grabner couldn't play for the Islanders. Think about that for a second. -Martin Marincin is thought to be a help on the blue line and comes from the Oilers -- one of the worst defensive teams in the league last year. Gone are a dozen or so Maple Leafs from last season, most notably lightning-rod forward Phil Kessel, traded to Pittsburgh. Among those returned in that six-player deal is forward Kasperi Kapanen, a 2014 first-round draft pick. The Leafs think they’ve plugged some holes and added some depth, including former Canadiens forward P.A. Parenteau. Mike Babcock makes his coaching debut for Toronto on Wednesday, and said " There will be pain." Bernier has gone 1-5-3 with a 3.07 GAA in nine career starts against Montreal. Montreal (50-22-10) took all four meetings with Toronto last season, two via shootout, to extend its series winning streak to six. The club hasn't won seven straight over the Leafs since a 10-game run Jan. 2-Nov. 12, 1958. Habs PP went 25% in the preseaon. Need to know: Carey Price went 4-0-0 vs. Toronto last season with a 1.69 GAA and .935 save percentage. The good news is that we're tied for 1st place. The bad news is that we're also tied for last place. Habs projected line up: Max Pacioretty-Tomas Plekanec-Brendan Gallagher Lars Eller-Alex Galchenyuk-Alexander Semin Tomas Fleischmann-David Desharnais-Dale Weise Brian Flynn-Torrey Mitchell-Devante Smith-Pelly (Paul Byron, scratch) Andrei Markov-P.K. Subban Alexei Emelin-Jeff Petry Nathan Beaulieu-Tom Gilbert (Jarred Tinordi-Greg Pateryn, Paul Byron,,scratches) Carey Price (starter) Michael Condon

Guest
Need to ruin (not Bruins yet) another home opener for these guys. They'll be pumped no doubt, so we'll need to weather the first few minutes. Let's hope the refs don't spoil it.

kinot-1
Nice as usual, Kinot. It's been too long! Thanks, 93. Just some comments I read today. There is a big sign on one of southern Ontario's biggest highways. It says , "Highway 401, Leafs 0"! Mike Babcock will only dress 6 players for tonight's game. The rest will dress themselves. Welcome to Toronto Bab's....$7 million will not cure stress....just sayin'

HabsRuleForever
Mhm. I'm excited. Shouldn't you be baking? Anyone know of a good bar or pub downtown or in the south-east area to watch the game? There's a bar right beside my apartment but it is a sketchy place. Sorry man, it looks like no one from Montreal has been on yet.

There are too many to choose from when you search Google. I have a back up plan that involves copious amounts of poutine, anyways.
