CANADIENS (3-0-0) at PENGUINS (0-2-0)

TV: RDS, City Montreal, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh
Radio: TSN 690 CKGM, 105.9 The X WXDX

Canadiens Last 5: 3-0-0 (W3)
Penguins Last 5: 0-2-0 (L2)

Stats: Mostly irrelevant and deceptive at this point. :P

Season series: The Pittsburgh Penguins won two of three against the Montreal Canadiens last season, scoring seven goals to Montreal's five. Pittsburgh scored four goals in the first game, but one each in its final two, winning 2-1 in overtime on Jan. 10.

Canadiens team scope: Montreal has replicated the start it had a season ago, winning its first three games, but will look to avoid a similar fate in its fourth. The Canadiens lost 7-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in their fourth game last season. Montreal has won each of its first three games by two goals while holding opponents to two goals or fewer, including allowing one each against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators. Goalie Carey Price, who will likely start against the Penguins, has 55 saves on the 58 shots he's faced in two starts. Montreal's offense has been led by forwards Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk, and defenseman P.K. Subban, who have each scored four points.

Leading Scorer: Max Pacioretty (2-2-4), Alex Galchenyuk (3-1-4), P.K. Subban (0-4-4)
Ice Time Leader: P.K. Subban (25:45)

Penguins team scope: Pittsburgh has had a drastically different start to its season. The Penguins offense has yet to click while totaling one goal in the first two games. "I always think it's a process at the beginning of the year, when you have several new players," coach Mike Johnston said. "It doesn't just happen at the snap of your fingers." A large bulk of the blame has been placed on captain Sidney Crosby, who has yet to register a shot on goal and has attempted one shot. Johnston will likely make one adjustment to the lineup, moving David Perron to the second line alongside center Evgeni Malkin and right wing Patric Hornqvist in place of Sergei Plotnikov, who will play third-line left wing.

Leading Scorer: Phil Kessel (1-0-0)
Ice Time Leader: Kris Letang (27:12)

All Time Record vs. Pittsburgh: 118-54-23-6 (.659 Point %)

Last Meeting: 10/01/15

MTL 1 - PIT 2 (OT)

One of those,,,,"don't have a clue what to expect" games.

Well, the Habs are undefeated while the Pens are in a slump to start the season.......so we can probably expect an explosion by the Pens while the Habs look like they just woke up five minutes before puck drop. It's the logical conclusion. :P

Yes but,,,,there's also the Price factor to consider.

Is it true Sidney Crosby ALWAYS picks up a point playing against the Habs  ? I remember hearing one of the commentators mention it during past games.

Let's see:

(Seriously, though, Crosby has played by my count 35 games against us including playoffs, and gotten at least one point in 27 of them.)

Why do you have "more" trouble watching these games than anyone else here?

This one is not on TV,,,right??

I'm watching from my computer with the Rodgers feed. It's legit. Just hasn't started yet.
