RicochetII
A little more than I would have liked, but exactly what I expected. Happily surprised on the term however. I thought 3 years minimum and 4 or 5 more likely. Since it is short term with no clauses to prevent moving him, it's easier to accept.
jedimaas
Yup, i can handle a little more $$ with the shorter term. Its the right deal for this team and for Plekanec.
fnveenie
No NMC. Interesting. I would have thought that with the short-term he would have expected one.
vegasrick
Wow.....big money, but glad he's going to stay here for a while. One of the best all-around players in the league.
BigTed3
No NTC, but to be fair, it's less likely the Habs move him this season or next now that he's signed, so unlike with a long-term deal where a player can be traded and then stuck on a team he doesn't like for life, Plekanec would at most be playing a season or less with whatever club he goes to. I'd venture a NTC is less important to a player on a short-term deal. Good deal overall for us term-wise and good deal money-wise for Plekanec. Win-win, because Plekanec is probably still going to be good value in the next two years and then like with Markov, we can play it one year at a time to see how he's doing. It gives you the option, if he's declining, of signing him to a shutdown third-line center type contract as well.
Habberwacky
Cost a little high, but term is perfect. Nice to see he will likely finish his career as a Hab. So far I think he has shown he deserves the increase as he may have 40 empty netters at this rate.
