If they are all trying to get Therrien fired they have to try harder.

Doubt you'll see it anytime soon, but if it were to happen we would likely see the St John coach as the interim. Do you remember Randy C??

I've said before that I'd almost be okay with wasting this season if it means we have an all hands on deck search for a new head coach starting the moment names start popping up. It's a significantly better option than keeping Therrien through the season for "stability", only to fire him next season if the early returns aren't acceptable. At that point, we've wasted a training camp and offseason, and potentially another season.

There's no good solution to this. Getting Therrien out of the way as soon as possible is the least bad of them all, IMO.

Maybe so, but why not run with what you have now? With a hot Price in net, a coach is pretty much a non factor. I'd rather make the change after a playoff failure, should it happen. If we burn another year of our core guys without at least a Cup appearance then i doubt he survives another summer as HC.

Look at 2011-12 Los Angeles. If a team is constructed well and there's underlying aptitude, the right coach can make the difference. Alternatively, a coach that simply doesn't get in the way can make a less significant but still positive difference.

I agree, the RIGHT coach can make a difference. I just don't see that guy as being available right now, and IMO going to the farm is a huge step backwards. I really hate what he's doing down there, and really shake in my boots imagining him in Montreal.
