They're not, actually. IIRC, the net cameras are Sony PTZ domes. Sony does in fact make higher quality 4K PTZ dome cameras, so there's not really a good excuse for it.

I've not seen hockey in 4K, but I've seen test footage of an NFL game on a 4K TV. It was extraordinary.
