Amid a disappointing season, let's talk about players having success for a change. We want to know which Habs player you foresee winning the team's scoring race. We have three players within two points of each other, but could Galchenyuk or Gallagher make a late comeback?

I guess I'm going to be an outsider on this one. Everyone likes Subban and he definitely gets a lot of ice and opportunity to rack up assists. I do think this could go any of 3-4 ways (I don't see Gallagher getting back in the race, but Galchenyuk has an outside shot IF the coach actually gives him minutes and linemates). However, I went with Pacioretty because out of all the guys on the list, Pacioretty is the one who probably has the highest chance of just turning up his game all of a sudden for a 5-7 game stretch. He can be quiet for two weeks and then pot 6 goals and 9 points in 5 games. I have a hard time believing he'll stay cold for the last 20 games of the year, so while he may not be as consistent as some of the others, he's the biggest wildcard for me in terms of suddenly having a prolonged hot streak.

i did pick Galchenyuk because id like to see it but honestly its probably going to be patches - both because he's probably the safer bet but also because if Galchenyuk has a run of points it will most likely be as Pacioretty's centre, meaning Patches will probably get his fair share of points on the same plays.

I would love for it to be Galchenyuk, but he's still a long ways off. Subban, Pacman, and Plekanec would all have to be relatively cold the rest of the way, and since those three guys are in on the scoring plays more often than not, it's unlikely (as you said) that Galchenyuk could rack up points without those three also pulling away a bit more as well.
