jennifer_rocket
Let's face it, though. This crippling loss is better for all of us. Could you imagine if Montreal did well to finish the season. MB would use it to justify keeping MT, or some such nonsense. An embarrassing loss is much, much better!
habs_93
I'd just be heartbroken if one of their dirtbag players stepped on one of those rats and went down. Crushed, I tell you. Bergevin already had the excuse he needed to continue on his broken path when Carey missed the bulk of the season.
kinot-1
We play this trash one more time, don't we? Call up Scott, dress Brown, and just tell them to go out and have fun. Who cares at this point? No reason to let these pukes walk into the playoffs without some bruises. We play them on Tues. at home.

Not convinced he's gone at the end of the year if they weren't willing to pull the trigger during the worst stretch of hockey this franchise has ever seen. I don't disagree that there's a strong possibility MT is back, but MB's going to make himself look dumb by saying the season was because of Carey only. We were literally the crappiest team in the league after our initial outburst in the first two months. I think the worst possible thing would be to go on a tear to end the season. Guest
This season can be compared to the whole Houle/Tremblay reign, condensed in 5 months.

To all of us, maybe. To his future coworkers in the French media, he'll look like a steadfast, cool operator. The ex-plugs and failed GMs/coaches in the English media have, with few exceptions, also excused away the season and have made mild criticism of Therrien at best. This is an organization which has, by its actions if not its direct words, apparently happily hitched its wagon to political forces that have winning as anything but their first priority. They seem awful comfortable with mediocrity as long as it doesn't upset the wrong apple carts. If that's a mistake of judgment, I'd love to be proven wrong. But I worry I won't. eldag
When a regular tank just won't do. TOO FUNNY!! But let's not overlook the obvious and enviable commitment to futility this organization has adopted, fully supported by the denizens of the Bell Centre .... hats off to the axis of misery; messrs Therrien, Bergevin, and Molson, the three amigos of the foxhole watching the evisceration of this once proud franchise as it aspires to the peak of accomplishment that can only be exemplified by the Holy Grail of incompetency in sports organizations. You guessed it!!! MAPLE LEAF SPORTS and ENTERTAINMENT ...... move over Leafs Nation .... we are hot on your trail .........
BigTed3
The thing about the Leafs is that they're headed in the right direction though. They have a president who knows the league in its current form and has turned the reigns over to competent hockey people. They have an experienced and shrewd GM. They have one of the top 3-5 coaches in the league. They identified that they are re-building and actually traded away a lot of rotten assets (some of whom people said were untradeable) to acquire draft picks. This draft, they have two firsts and two seconds, along with extra late round picks. Will it take time for Toronto? Absolutely. But in a few years, they'll be there to challenge for a Cup if they continue along this path. Us? Our window in its current form has about 2-3 years left on it. After that, the money we owe Carey, Galchenyuk, and Pacman makes keeping this core together unsustainable. So either we need to win before that or change the core. The problem is that we've wasted the current core's years on a bad coach and on a GM who insists we're in a long-term vision type plan without recognizing the urgency of winning with his current core now. If you're the Leafs or Panthers or Oilers or Coyotes, then Bergevin's plan makes a lot of sense, in terms of being patient and not giving away key youngsters in the organization. But when you have Carey and Subban and Gallagher and Markov and Plekanec and Pacman and Eller, you build to win now. Bergevin has missed that. His plan doesn't fit the team he's been given, and his coaching choice doesn't fit that either. If we continue this, Leafs fans will be laughing it up at us shortly enough.
