FirstStar
Even before carey's recent string of knee issues, during and following the Olympics. I noticed that he often had little issues and almost 1 injury a season that sidelined him, even in his first few years with the habs. Wasn't in a carey price injury that opened the door for halak? believe carey was injured, leaving halak to start in his place. He actually did quite well, but was replaced by carey upon his return. After a few average to rough starts for carey, Jaro was given the starts and he brought us to the ECF, where we were easily bumped off by Philly. This is a pattern that I noticed and worried me, early on in Price's career.

But yes, its been a relatively troubling trend with Price. Lets hope he has a long time of injury-free hockey starting this fall.

Can you imagine if he gets injured for a long period of time this season, too? I guess it will be Al Montoya trying to keep us from sinking. I'm really hoping he could finally have a healthy season. Since he's been with the team as a starter, i think he's only had 1 full, healthy season, without an injury-even a minor one (of a few games). You got my vote I'm still a little concerned with CP's situation. Being run in the crease has done it's damage IMO. I sincerlly hope his problems are behind him. What's concerning, especially with today's tenders, is any injury to knees or hips, can be career threatening. Pekka Rinne was a solid tender, until he suffered his hip injury, it was made worse by an infection that developed in the wound. He'll have games where he looks like the old Rinne, but more often than not, he isn't the pre-injury Rinne. Hoping the same thing doesn't happen with Price. I cannot imagine him making it a full season without injury now. I think we should assume he won't play the number of games he's expected to in any given year. Hopefully signing Montoya was recognition of this and his workload will be lessened. As long as he's ready to go for the play-offs, that's all I am concerned about. ramcharger440
I am feeling good about his health he had time off to rehab properly there is talk he will have a couple of extra games off and we have two goalies who could sub for him during those games. I am not overly concerned the truth is you never know! look at marky everyone thought he was finished his knee has been rock solid and he is no spring chicken. They are idiots then. A typical flu - an actual flu, not just a bad cold - is 1 to 2 week recovery time. Yes, the most noticeable symptoms often are gone in 3 - 4 days but remember that Carey is not returning to work behind a broadcast desk. He'll need a couple of days of easing into conditioning from being off. The last thing you want is for him to return to fast & get a groin pull or something. i would expect him to be out a game or two more at least. The media loves its conspiracy theories.
