kinot-2
IT'S GAME DAY AGAIN!!!! TONITE THE HABS VISIT THE NEW JERSEY DEVILS Feb 27 7:00 PM ET CANADIENS @ DEVILS MSG+, SNE, RDS, TSN 690 Radio. Because of the B2B games today and tomorrow, Monty might play this game, (unconfirmed). It hasn’t been an easy month for the Montreal Canadiens, and although a Saturday night victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs provided a needed morale boost, they say goodbye to February with back-to-back games that are of the utmost importance. The first of those games comes on the road tonight in New Jersey, where the Habs will take on the lowly Devils. Just barely above last place in the Eastern Conference, the Devils represent a real opportunity for the Canadiens to win their first regulation game since January 31st. Saturday night’s win was a boost for the Habs, giving them some breathing room atop the Atlantic Division. Still, the Senators remain in hot pursuit, making these last couple of games before the trade deadline potentially all-important when it comes to determining playoff match-ups. While the acquisition of Taylor Hall continues to pay dividends, the team’s offence has very little substance behind him. The former Oiler leads the team with 41 points in 51 games, putting him on pace to match his 2015-16 total of 65. Only four other Devils forwards - and one defenceman - have more than 20 points on the year; indicative of their scoring woes. The Habs, on the other hand, are attempting to prevent teams from leap-frogging them: a goal they will only accomplish by winning games with regularity once again. With the month winding to a close, the time to start doing that is now. kinot's GDT Record 15-11-

FanFromAB
Good GDT. I like the write up. The time to win is now for sure. A game vs NJ is one where you want to prove your 1st place position with a dominant win. Anyone know the starting line ups?

H_T_L
NEWARK -- Here are the forward lines and defensive pairings head coach Claude Julien featured during Monday morning's practice at the Prudential Center. Pacioretty, Danault, Radulov Lehkonen, Galchenyuk, Gallagher Byron, Plekanec, Shaw Andrighetto, Desharnais, MitchellMcCarron, Flynn Markov, Weber Emelin, Petry Beaulieu, NesterovPateryn Looks like Emelin is getting a shot with Petry for this game. Could be interesting. Weird that they see Nesterov as a better option then Pateryn. I don't see much of an upgrade either way but you would think they would still be showcasing him if they do indeed intend to trade him by Wednesday. They are both slow but both very good positionally. I have less concern with their speed and more concern with Markov wearing down before the playoffs. Playing Weber-minutes is going to take its toll on Markie. If we can balance it somehow, rotate between Markov and someone else, I think it might be a band aid solution if Bergevin cant get a deal done before Wed. I dont think Benn is a viable solution there.

But of course, they have ex-Habs, so we'll be in for a struggle. Could be a trap game. If the Habs lose, I wonder if Julien will be on the hot seat?
