IT'S ANOTHER SUNNY DAY IN FLORIDA, SO WHAT'S BETTER THAN TO HAVE ANOTHER GAME IN FLORIDA?

TONIGHT, THE HABS

TAKE ON THE FLORIDA PANTHERS

7:30 PM ET  CANADIENS @ PANTHERS FS-F, SNE, RDS, TSN 690 Radio.

Less than a week has passed since the Canadiens and Panthers last met at the Bell Centre, with the result that evening being a 6-2 rout that would clinch a playoff berth for the Habs.

Days later, the Habs travel to Sunrise in hopes of a repeat; this time with an opportunity to lock up the Atlantic Division title and a likely first-round playoff matchup with the New York Rangers.

A four-game win streak has seen the Canadiens shoot ahead in the division race, while four consecutive losses have led to the Senators dropping to third behind the surging Maple Leafs.

With four games in six days to close out the regular season this week, the Habs will have little rest heading into the post-season. Of course, with the momentum they’ve been riding since the beginning of March, that might just be a positive.

It’s a different story altogether in Florida, where the Panthers are looking to snap a four-game losing streak tonight on home ice. After being eliminated from playoff contention by the Habs last time out, however, at this point games mean little for anyone but players with something to prove.

The Canadiens were all over the Panthers last week, and it was reflected on the scoreboard. A 6-2 win was a fitting scoreline for a game the Habs managed to take control of, and one that has doubtlessly added to the confidence of a team that is rolling into the playoffs.

Can the Habs win a fifth straight as they continue their road trip in Florida?

Stuff to digest:

Thornton is a healthy scratch. If habs win they clinch the Atlantic division title. Going down to the game? Be prepared to pay $58 for a seat in the middle of the ice 20 rows up.

YW.

Here's their team photo, could be the largest in NHL history.

Way too many suits in the front row. And 4 goalies?? This looks more like a keepsake photo for a business closing up shop.

Breaking news, TSN reporting that Weber is out with a LBI.

Not a joke. :P

Interesting. At first i thought it was a subtle way to get him some games off but the part about "will fly back to montreal and meet with team doctors" is a bit concerning.  We definitely need a healthy Weber come playoff time.

Wonder if this is something he's been dealing with (injury) for a while but decided now he should rest up before the second season.

I would have preferred to start Price, to increase our chances to end this race tonight. Weber out also doesn't help the cause.  I would have given Charlie the Sabres and Detroit (if Monty isn't back). That leaves Tampa at home as a playoff tuneup for Carey.

Well we need to find two points somewhere, that's all. Preferably not the last game of the season, so would be nice to get it here or in Buffalo. I like Lindgren though, I think he's pretty solid for a youngster with little NHL experience. Hopefully the offence shows up tonight, that'll be the key...

Well, it "would" be a 3 day rest for him.

I was thinking of going too but didn't count on Price starting. May have to think harder now. I imagine tickets won't be too hard to find.
