maas_art
Glad to see he wasnt claimed. He'll most likely never be a star, but i think he's got 15 goal potential & would hate to see him lost for nothing.

If Froese plays one more game, then he would need to clear waivers to go back to Laval, so thought is that Habs will use Carr to be able to send Froese back at some point. Either way, roster now at 24, so if Froese isn't gone, it'll be Weber to IR or Mete to junior or Davidson to AHL or something to that effect. In any case, pleased to see Carr recalled. Our 4th line is awful right now and would help to have some amount of secondary scoring. Des La Froese isn't getting any goals any time soon. H_T_L
RDS was speculating that somebody got hurt last night ( maybe Hudon ?) but I haven't seen any news on that yet.

Per Eric Engels: "Forward Jonathan Drouin didn’t fly with teammates to Detroit last night. He was in the room after last night’s game and was fully available to the media. No more info at this time." BigTed3
Sent back to Hamilton. Unclear if it's because Drouin is ready or because they want to save cap space (not that they are desperate for it!) between games. That said, Carr had 4 points in 2 games playing on the 4th line. He clearly made that line better than it has been in a long time. Would have been a much better decision to send Froese or Deslauriers to Laval (or Morrow, if you need the roster spot). Called back up. It seems like no one is quite sure what exactly is up - is it related to JD, is it an emergency callup vs. waiver countdown call up, etc. From Andrew Zadarnowski: "Carr was assigned to the Laval Rocket only last night, a move which caught a lot of people by surprise given the winger’s solid play on the fourth line and the availability of a roster spot after Brandon Davidson was claimed on waivers by the Edmonton Oilers. His status could be linked to Jonathan Drouin. With Drouin out, the Canadiens would only have 11 healthy forwards, creating an opening for Carr as an emergency recall. The advantage of such a recall is that a player under its umbrella does not lose waiver exemption days, which was the case for Carr under a standard recall. Under the conditions of his previous callup, Carr would have become waiver eligible after eight more games or 26 more days in the NHL. Now, Carr can remain with the Canadiens until Drouin’s activation, at which point the winger can be either returned to Laval or stay in the NHL with a ticking waiver exemption counter. Alternatively, Carr’s short trip to Laval might have been simply a way to conserve a day from his waiver eligibility counter which would save one extra day before he requires waivers again. Carr has four points in two games for the Canadiens this season, and 19 points in 20 games for the Rocket."

There's nothing wrong with grit - as long as you dont overvalue it. Gallagher is a gritty player & he's easily been our best forward this year. Shaw is gritty and when he's not being a bone-head he's good (Would be better if we hadnt given him the ridiculous contract). I agree about Carr. He's a pretty complete player & I think easily within the 12 best in our coffers right now. He should be playing with the big club long-term but im not sure if he will because of waivers. We have only a few more games before we would have to expose him to waivers to send him back down I believe?

tony5775
It was obvious during exhibition games that this guy was the real deal. The fact that no one tried him until now is the biggest problem with this team. We need to clean house on management and coaching at season end.
