MB is the biggest hole we have.

gettting rid of him is number 1 with a bullet. absolutely critical.  first time in my life I am rooting for losses. we make our cynical comments as fans, but its so so critical. he is so deep in his delusion its mind boggling.  OUT before you do any more damage. ASAP

Doesn't he have 4-5 more years to go?

technically yeah but therrien had term left too. he is under heavy scrutiny by the fan base, the team is losing, and i cant imagine he survives if we have a bad year and miss the playoffs

Unbelievably he is in the first year of a five year extension Molson lavished upon him in November 2015 and it runs through 2021-2022 season. Molson called him the best general manager in the league at the time. Then he went ahead and traded Subban at the end of that very season and the rest as they say .... is history folks. This guy ain't goin' anywhere for a long time yet folks ....

Turn out the lights ..... the party is over .......

Well, if we fire him early we can use the $8 million in unused cap money to pay his salary.

We often talk about Bergevin's obsession with "Grit and Character" but i also think he has a fetish for pedigree.

If you look at guys we've acquired or signed, how many were former first rounders?

Drouin, Danault, Alzner, Montoya, Hemsky, Morrow etc. even guys like Weber and Petry were very high 2nd rounders.   Its like MB is constantly looking for affirmation:  Well this other team took him high in the draft so he must be good because even he doesnt have faith in his own talent assessment.

Well i am done with this guy! what is going to sink him is the leftover cap space, all the odd and some very bad moves he has made are one thing but to come into the year with one whole side of you d corps a huge question mark one of you main offensive talents pretty much felling like you want to kick him to the curb and a couple more project signings to try and make the playoffs with? you have to be short on grey matter to think that will fly in Montreal! and to have let Rads slip away! one of the most exciting players we have seen here in 20 years! then to let Marky just leave after all the years he played at a very high level here! the man is a fool. plain and simple there is no excuse for what is going on here with all those bad decisions in one off season and then to have all the cap space and still not pull the trigger on some kind of deal is a GM killer it will be here too at some point unless a very big rabbit gets pulled out of a roughly 8 million dollar hat really really soon.

I think that extra cap space was an accident  . The plan was to sign Markov and Radulov and he supposedly  stiffed them so they left .

2 more losses on this trip and I think MB is gone. 2 more losses and we'll be saying the past Leaf mantra : "Maybe next year"!

We kept saying the same thing about MT and look how long that took. I'll believe it when I see it.

Except that MT was tied to MB.  Letting MT go was at least a partial nod to MB that "fix this, or you're next."

Molson said that when PK was to be traded he was concerned but Bergevin "explained his plan" so he (Molson) gave his blessing. Now that we're over a year later &  that "vision" has gotten blurred, would it not be time to right the ship Geoff?

Molson seems as tied to MB as MB was to MT, so I see no changes on the horizon unless the fans show it by hurting sales.

This was a BIG mistake which cost us our offence. Had we retained Radulov AND acquired Drouin we'd be in better shape.

Actually I don't think things would be much different because we would still have the worst defense in the NHL. The slide began when PK was traded. I think when MB got Molson's blessing on that he felt invincible. Hence, it has been one stupid move after another to arrive at the wreck you see before you now. Until people stop buying tickets and merchandise however, nothing will change. Until Molson starts seeing the $$$ losses mounting he will continue to do nothing.
