The Red Wings have lost five straight, three in overtime, including Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to the L.A. Kings. ... Montreal defeated Ottawa on Wednesday, 2-1. A pair of teams moving in opposite directions meet when the Detroit Red Wings host the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit is winless in its past five games (0-2-3) while the Canadiens are riding a three-game winning streak after a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night in Montreal. The Red Wings lost 4-1 at home to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. "I think if we could have won two of the (recent) games in overtime, we'd have been fine, but we haven't," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said after the game Tuesday, according to Booth Newspapers. "So now we have tons of urgency on Thursday." The Red Wings are in the middle of a stretch in which they play 13 of 18 games at home. They are 4-4-4 at Little Caesars Arena. Red Wings center and captain Henrik Zetterberg, hasn't scored a goal in 18 games. BigTed3
It gets worse... Instead of moving AG to center and playing Carr on that line, RDS is reporting that AG will stay at wing and Jacob De La Rose will move to 1st line center. Yes, Jacob De La Rose, previously of the scoreless Des La Froese fourth line, will now be preferred as the first line center over Alex Galchenyuk. Our center ice now lines up, in order, De La Rose, Danault, Plekanec, and Froese. Bergevin sure knows how to build a winner.

I got all excited that they called up carr (a natural RW) and were playing Byron on that line (A natural LW) meaning Galchenyuk would (naturally) be at centre... BigTed3
So if I'm ranking the D men, you have your best guy playing with your #6, you have your 2nd best guy (probably Schlemko) playing with your 4th best guy (Mete), and your 3rd best guy (Jerabek) playing with your 5th best guy (Benn)... so whose getting what type of minutes? BigTed3
Somebody's wrong... RDS has the lines as I posted above. Habs official twitter has Morrow still in over Mete. What gives?
BigTed3
How about the job Ray Shero is doing in NJ? - Gets Hall for Larsson - Gets Johansson for picks - Now gets Vaatanen for Henrique You look at the job Shero has done there, what Nill has done in Dallas, what Poile is doing in Nashville, Lamoriello in Toronto, the group in Calgary, and so on... there are guys making reasonably big acquisitions to improve their squads. So why does Bergevin find his job so hard and say these types of trades are too hard to do?
