BigTed3
PJ Stock: "They changed the 4th line and got three new guys from Laval who have energy, but the 9 guys ahead of them and the 6 defencemen, there's no energy. They need to make a trade and change something up" .. so on both French networks, they've come up with the same point: that this team is lacking energy, passion, effort, enthusiasm, etc. Doesn't that point to the fact that Bergevin decided to get rid of all players with personality, and now we're paying for it? BigTed3
Antichambre: "What was the difference between the 5 game winning streak and now?" PJ Stock: "Carey. He played well and now he's not again." ... implying this team still relies on having top-notch goaltending to win.

Bergevin left a lot of cap space unused. We know the Habs are a rich team, so it wasn't that the money wasn't available. It tells the team Bergevin simply screwed up in managing his assets and not giving the team the players it could have had. 2. I think there are sour grapes about what Bergevin did to Markov and Radulov. Pacioretty recently stated the team really missed those guys. I posted about how Pacioretty has suffered from the lack of puck-moving defencemen. So yeah, very clear Bergevin's game of chicken with those players has hurt the locker room and the guys who are left. 3. The D is horribly built, and I think all the players know how little offence and puck movement is coming from them. You look at our forward roster, there should be more offence coming from them. They're a skilled group. But you can't expect them to work miracles when the D can't get them the puck in scoring opportunities. That's interesting, to say the least! jwlk
there's no changes coming, there's no french coach out there to replace ours with, if that's the problem, and there's no french Gm out there ready to take control, by Molson appealing to this french 1st attitude, this team and staff are what the are. HabsRuleForever
There’s an article on tsn.ca about how confident Molson is with Bergevin. All Bergevin has done is dismantle a team that was very close to a shambles. Its going to be a long time before the Habs are any good again. You can rebuild extremely quickly in the cap era. The wall to doing that is Bergevin, but the solution requires Molson to put in place a GM who doesn't think about hockey in the old-school way and value grit over skill. We do have a weaker division so we "could" actually make the playoffs still. Where as I don't see Edmonton anywhere near making the playoffs. They paid McDavid way too much to early. They could still end up a lottery team , probably get #1 overall again. Is Edmonton Bettman's love child ? Yes they have the coveted "potential" but tanking doesn't guarantee anything. If it did than Phoenix Buffalo Carolina must be perennial cup contenders. I think they had a nice run last year took people by surprise , but I still think they're a long way from a long play off run yet or automatically a playoff team year in year out. Why should Molson care about where a coach is French or not? It's his team. Can he not do whatever he wants? Or is he playing both ends against the middle and couldn't care less how the team is doing as long as the seats are all full? Endorsing Bergevin? From Sam Pollock to this...wowzers.
