I do miss the individual Players, coach, GM & Owner threads.

They should be brought back IMO.

Whenever something comes up pertaining to the GM, owner or a specific player, you can make a new discussion thread. When it runs it's course we'll archive it until another event pops up. Keeps the discussion current.

What HTL said. If you want to create a thread to discuss someone, go ahead... but 2/3 of the player threads didn't see anyone posting in them for months at a time, so that's why we scrapped them. The Bergevin thread got a lot of action, but it duplicated a lot of what was in the If I Were GM thread. The Julien thread duplicated some of what was in State of the Habs or Lines threads. So we're not eliminating discussion about players, but we are going to try to use threads about specific players/issues as they come up rather than leaving clutter. As we said, we will see how it goes for a period of time and we can always re-assess things if they're not working.

I still don't like that idea at all. There was nothing wrong with the individual generic Players, Coach, GM & Owner threads, we had plenty of input, good discussions and opinions.

I think we should revert back as it was before IMO.

We'll see. The door isn't closed. But the goal was to have people open up the forum and have all the active content right up front, as opposed to having multiple subforums to fish through, with a lot of inactive threads.

I like the new format, it's a lot fresher, and any specific player topics needing discussed, just open a new thread similar to the one for the Danault injury. Good job admin team ?

My spidey senses are tingling. I wouldn't be surprised if "gifts" were dropped off at an undisclosed location.

Information and opinion threads are as different as night and day.

Labels can be OK.

Community threads have been fun, though obviously not everyone participates.

My suggestion would be Mods should be starters of threads or promoted.

Yup me too.

I find it’s now messy and difficult to navigate. This place was nice for that organizational value. Now it’s exactly like reddit.  R/Habs is great for current discussions and they have an app

Yup, we had good dialogue and input from those removed threads. If it ain't broke don't fix it IMO.

I don't really miss the player threads tbh. The players that had interesting discussions still have their own threads (eg. Pacioretty trade thread) but most of the player threads were just linking Friedman/McKenzie/LeBrun tweets about boring RFA qualifying offers or being sent to the AHL/called up to the NHL.

If people did like that and used the threads for info that's fair enough, just for me with Twitter and smartphones I don't really need to have a forum for basic Habs info.

For sure.  When Weber got injured I posted in his thread & had to long on page 2 since it had been so long since anyone had posted in it.

It's too bad the team threads were removed since Las Vegas is now being charged by the U.S. Army for copyright infringement for using the Golden Knights nickname.  The Army says it has been used since 1969 in connection with their paratroopers.

Please use The Rest of the NHL thread for  league news not related to the Canadiens.

Or you can create a new temporary thread if it's a bigger story worth its own discussion. Maybe not in this case, but as you see fit...
