IT'S GAMEDAY!!!! YEAAAAAAA.

TONIGHT OUR HABS WILL PUT THEIR 3 GAME UNBEATEN STREAK ON THE LINE WHEN THEY TAKE ON JOHN TAVARES AND THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS.

The Islanders rank No. 2 in offence with 3.41 goals a game, but the rank 31st in defence, allowing 3.61 goals a game. John Tavares, whose future with the team is cloudy, is the team leader on offence with 22 goals and 52 points, two more than Josh Bailey. Mathew Barzal leads all NHL rookies with 44 points, while former Notre Dame star Anders Lee is the top goal scorer with 25. The Islanders are fun to watch, but that hasn’t helped them attract fans to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. They rank last in NHL attendance with a shade over 12,000 fans a game.

Greiss will start Monday in Montreal.

Greiss allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Islanders loss in Philadelphia on January 4th. 2017-18 has been disastrous for Greiss, who somehow has more wins than losses (9-6-2) despite posting a 3.89 GAA and .882 SV% in 18 starts and two relief appearances. Tonight he draws a solid matchup vs. the Canadiens, but has gone 4-5-0 with a 4.29 GAA and .881 SV% on the road.

Carey is unconfirmed.

Apparently Carr will be between JD and Chuck.

JD stays at center, but I'm excited to see this line. Nice to see Carr get a look in the top 6.

Not sure why Byron gets the nod at center over AG and Hudon though... more mysterious coaching decisions.
