Personally, I'd still consider dressing Reilly I think we'll see Weise or Peca. Dlo seems to be out of CJ's system now ( and rightly so) and Hudon is nothing but an afterthought at this point of the season. I highly doubt he plays another game for the Habs. Reilly doesn't seem to be in the plans right now other then as an emergency option. I can't see CJ using him as a forward,,,, as intriguing an option that may be. jennifer_rocket
I, honestly, wouldn't be surprised to see Deslauriers in there. Kind of an over-reaction to Byron getting hurt in a fight. Grit, determination, toughness. You know, all those things. I hope it's Peca. I would be shocked if it's Hudon.

I've thought that a couple times over the last few weeks,,, but he's resisted the option ( using Weise instead). Makes me think he's finally gotten over the man crush from earlier this season. I don't agree but i'm leaning towards it being Weise. Let's hope we get good news about Byron later today and then it becomes mute.

BigTed3
Of interest, Zach Werenski left the Jackets' game last night with a presumed leg injury and was in some pain. He did not return. No update on his condition has been released but he is believed to be day to day and it is unclear if he will go tomorrow night against us. A suivre! BigTed3
St. Cloud State has also been eliminated tonight in a major upset (16 seed over the 1 seed)... as such, Ryan Poehling's college season is over. He was hurt fairly badly a few days ago, so it's unclear if he would actually be able to continue playing worry-free, but he is now eligible to be signed and brought into Laval or even Montreal. The watch now starts to know if he will sign this off-season... Everyone wants to know if Poehling will go back to college and play another year, but here are a few things that might go against that: 1. They've been a #1 seed the past two years I believe and have failed to win the college championship, so no guarantees even if he goes back that that gets done. 2. He's been playing with his two older brothers. Not sure what their status is, but they may no longer be there next year, hence maybe less impetus to return. 3. Now that St. Cloud is out, Poehling could theoretically sign now and get into his ELC earlier. The Habs have to watch what this does to his expansion draft eligibility, but I think he needs to play at least 10-11 games this year to make that a concern. 4. Poehling and Kotkaniemi apparently keep in touch by text regularly, so maybe he does see himself as being a member of the organization already. 5. Jimmy Schuldt is a Hobie Baker nominee defenceman for St. Cloud and should be leaving there too. The Habs are one team who had previously brought him into camp here. We're rumored to be one of the favorites to sign him, which could be another tie-in for Poehling to come here. So the watch is on. I'm not sure the Habs will bother throwing Poehling into the fire in such important games here when they clearly don't even trust Kotkaniemi at this point. But even if he and Brook go to Laval, that's a big boost to the Rocket, and if the Canadiens do pull out a miracle and make the playoffs, you have two potential key call-ups if they're able to show something in the AHL. BigTed3
Cameras caught Poehling long after the game just standing at ice level in a suit staring out at the ice. Really looked a lot like he was reflecting on what was his last college game in that rink. Has me thinking a little more that he's going to sign in coming days. Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin has indicated he would like Poehling, a highly regarded prospect at centre, to begin his pro career. Brook’s Western Hockey League season with the Moose Jaw Warriors ended on Wednesday. Brook, 19, was selected by the Canadiens in the second round (No. 56 overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Schuldt would be a nice add. Im not sure how soon he'd be NHL ready but i think he'd be way up there on our Laval depth charts. I have a feeling Poehling will sign within the next few days. With Brook just joining Laval i imagine MB already has future contracts on the brain.

That record could easily be in trouble this year.
